The Fantasy Island Committee has met this morning, and has decided to award Ginger Dynamo the 2020-21 title.
No "null and void" for us, and the prize giving will be completed in the normal way (i.e. don't hold your breath).
The only concession made to the cut down season was to add an asterisk this year in the roll call of winners - see
https://fantasyisland.yeltz.co.uk/about.php for those legends who have been winners in the past 20-odd years.
Feeling hopeful we'll be back playing again in August

Still no official line from the Southern League about expungement or otherwise.
And amongst other things that they’re cogitating, they can’t decide whether to have a version of the MadeUp Cup that others are doing.

Other questions that the SL are currently considering include -
- Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near?
- How do you solve a problem like Maria?
- How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

There was also this at the end of the statement
It has also been decided that, subject to FA Council’s decision regarding the curtailment of the season at Steps 3 to 6, both committees will revisit discussions around a potential restructure at Steps 4-6 of the NLS, which was previously agreed and has been on hold since the 2019-20 season. A further update on this will be provided in due course.

Further to the potential restructure, there's a proposal of what this would look like doing the rounds -
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/ ... 00v1x57Ig0
I don't know where it's come from, but the format is the same as the one that's generally right.
*Ninja edit - it seems that it's based on PPG from 19/20 and 20/21, but as to who has created the sheet, dunno.
As ever, the AGM Cup is one of the biggest spectacles in non league.
Anyway, book the open-topped bus, we're up!

The big difference between the last two posts is the first assumes the FA reorganisation at step 4 proceeding creating a third league for the NPL to administer. My feeling is we have a very good chance of playing many different teams next season at whatever level we play at.

That would be absolutely brilliant, but I don't understand on what basis we would have been 'promoted'. And it would seem Corby not.

Would be lovely if there was some re-org. I know this will generate plenty of mirth for our rivals but I really can't bear Step 4 for another season. It's not so much the "level" but more the places you have to visit. There isn't a single away day in the M40 league that is worth looking forward to.
The trip to Hednesford in the cup, despite the fact it was limited capacity and with all the necessary restrictions, showed how big some of these local games could actually be. You look at the proposal on the google doc and there are probably about a dozen opponents where you know there'd be a good atmosphere, home and away.
Looking at this realistically though, if the league have made it N&V, then I'm not sure whether they can dig out the old results and use them to rejig the structure/allocations. I will live in hope nonetheless.

I believe it uses a composite function that combines PPG with pie quality.

I have a proud record of non-attendance of league cup games stretching back to long before I turned up at The Grove. Having a MadeUp Cup might force me to reconsider that position, if only to assist the sanity of Mrs Noggin in getting me from being under her feet all the time.

I actually wouldn't be surprised.
Watching the way the football authorities are/aren't dealing with the VAR fiasco at the moment is raising their credibility to unheard of heights at the moment. Even rock, paper, scissors will struggle to solve it. Pie quality may yet be the answer there too. Or shooting the fuckin' lot of 'em.
