Re: Restart
Statement now due *from* six.
I’m going to apply this logic to work tomorrow. I’m sure my employers will understand.

An education for the yoofs on 'ere.
Let's get rid of all the Premier League identikit football chants, foul language and all, that seem to infect The Shed, and get back to creating our own repertoire of amusing musical accompaniment to the finest genre of football - that of the Non-League variety .
The Great Biscuit Songbook is a mighty fine start.

Re: Restart
Season 2020/21 Restart
Following consultation with Member Clubs and discussions between the Steps 3 & 4 leagues, the following statement is made.
The Clubs in membership of the Northern Premier, Southern and Isthmian Leagues (the Trident Leagues) met earlier this week to consider the challenges and issues brought about by the reintroduction of Tiers after the raising of the nationwide lockdown with effect from yesterday.
The clubs were asked to vote on a proposition that the pause in fixtures be continued with a regular review in light of changes to the Tiers and/or grants becoming available. The first review to be no later than 16th December. The total votes cast by the 224 Clubs show a substantial number of Clubs in agreement with the proposition. The matter has been considered today and is subject to comment by The FA.
A further statement will be issued in due course.
A little bit clearer from the Southern League - nicked from here - https://southern-football-league.co.uk/ ... 21-Restart
No football until the new Dollops are announced on Dec 16, subject to FA ratification, and a new start date will be voted on again then, or within a few days / weeks / aeons I guess.
Terrible wordsmithing in the statement though.
“The total votes cast by the 224 Clubs show a substantial number of Clubs in agreement with the proposition.”
A substantial number? A majority? Clarity man!

Re: Restart
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the morons that run football. Days and days of ifs, buts and maybes, delays, statements about forthcoming statements, all to tell us they're going to do it again in a fortnight. FFS.

Re: Restart
I would be interested in what others think as to when (or if) the season will resume.
Based on a review on 16th December, it is possible that competitive matches will resume on Boxing Day or New Year's Day. However, if C-19 transmission behavior follows what happened in Canada after their Thanksgiving https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/1 ... s-warning/, it is very likely that where will be a big uplift in C-19 cases in mid-January which could lead to further governmental measures including another pause in football.
It is possible now that the season could be played out. if there is further delay past Christmas, I would suggest that it is like a turkey, well and truly stuffed.
