I believe that may have been my first Yeltz game. Certainly one of my first games!dalevillain wrote: ↑11 Oct 2020, 12:45Reminds me of that game several years ago where we were 3-0 up at half time then ended up losing 5-3. Can’t remember who we played now, maybe one of the more ‘senior’ members on here can remind me?!

Like already said, it's a wake-up call and I think we all needed it. We had a similar wobble at the very beginning of last season and things settled down soon after, so it's not time to panic.
Unfortunately though, it's not always the BEST team that gets promoted, it's often the most consistent. We have to start "finding a way" in every game and that's why I asked Paul about the consistency point. It's alright tearing teams apart at The Grove but we have to go to places like Kidlington in the pouring rain and do the business too.

Just watched highlights and we certainly left a couple of goals out there.
Though Simmo being felled by the keeper looked a stonewall penalty and a red card

I wished I hadn't, but I've just watched them back, we could have scored 10........... Holmes had more time than he thought to put us 4 up after Simmo's lob, and Manning should have passed to Moly or Holmes instead of shooting on his weak foot. Hopefully they've watched it!

This match sounds like the highlight of Yeltz' season so far,in terms of abandoning the season at this stage it would suit Halesowen Town to scrub the league programme which looking at the current table, would penalize Corby.Last season we were one of a number of clubs who wanted the league and the FA trophy to continue, so as with most things it is swings and roundabouts. The jury is still out on Paul Smith, will he be a one season wonder or is he like Paddy Page in it for the long run."Win or lose we have some booze and if we draw we have some more".
