It would still be ace though if somehow we could get a screen at The Grove, open the bar and all watch together, would be quite and atmosphere, though I realise it would take some organising and those organising would most likely be at the game.

My socialist principles would be much more placated if it was free.
The “as agreed with Halesowen” suggests that we might make a quid on it as well, so I suppose that’s ok.

I’m personally ambivalent on it (can see arguments either way), but I do worry there’s a smidgen too much relying on fan loyalty at the risk of alienating people. For all I can imagine lots of people on here being all for it, I wonder if the club needs to be mindful of not taking fans for granted...

Given the choice between no coverage or paying a few quid, I know which is the more palatable to me.

Criticism of Karen, Keith and the club establishment for accepting reality on this is way out of line. If you want further evidence look at last years accounts to look at the Director loan amounts.

I’ve just spent time typing a reply and it’s vanished into the ether. Irritating.

Firstly, to clarify, I wasn’t criticising anyone. It is evident to anyone with half a brain what an excellent job the current management of the club have done, and I would hope I wouldn’t have to preface any post with that.

I was trying to make a broader point (perhaps clumsily) about the optics of the move to go to PPV- personally, I have no issue with it (I’ll happily waste my cash on plenty of less worthwhile things and I also made a donation to the club’s ground appeal so I’m not whining in that direction), but a quick glance at Twitter and other correspondence I have received suggests not everyone sees it like that. I always try to apply the principle of charity, and my point was more that it might not be a great look (from pure optics, I stand by that- it isn’t). There is almost always a bigger picture, and I applaud those who run the club’s attempts to be transparent about these things, but in light of asking people to donate the ticket money from the original tie (which I have done without grumbling), it is worth mindful of how it might appear.

It wasn’t a personal comment but a general response to the point being made. I completely understand and appreciate the loyalty you and many other fans have shown us. As everyone will recognise we can’t please everyone all of the time, but hopefully by being transparent the majority of our fans will recognise that we are doing the best we can in very difficult circumstances, none of which were of our making. I am very happy the semi is going to be played.

I’d be very happy if the best that can happen is that we get a decent stream to watch - these things are non-trivial to do well, and it sounds like Concord are sensibly getting in outside help to do that. If we need to chip in a few quid to help cover their costs, doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Not sure how any of that is contentious, or why we are arguing about this - bloody hell WE’RE IN THE SEMIFINALS OF THE FA TROPHY, ONE STEP FROM WEMBLEY!

And the irony is that the one person who is working tirelessly to sort out this situation is having to devote time to answering venomous social media comments and she has to go to work in a high pressure job in the morning
