I have by the way asked the question directly to the FA, as I guess many others have. Probably won't get a reply as it would require somebody there being able to read and write....

An independent arbitration tribunal has rejected South Shields's legal challenge to overturn the decision to void Steps 3 to 7 of non-league.

So it appears that the Southern League were originally in favour of the Points per Game Option

"The Isthmian League representative (Mr Robinson) said that
the Isthmian League was in favour of ending the season and declaring it null and void.
The NPL representative (Mr Harris) said that the Board of the NPL was in favour of
ending the season with immediate effect. As recorded in the minutes of the meeting, he
confirmed that “average points per game was the favoured outcome but his Board would
support null and void if that was the consensus view of Step 3 and 4 Leagues…….his
Board were looking for a quick decision to be made as this was the overall wish of their
member clubs”. The Southern League representative (Mr Hughes) confirmed that the
Board of the Southern League was “also unanimous in ending season immediately”; was
in favour of a points per game solution to ending the season; and that the “clubs were
looking for a quick decision”. The minutes also record that “If the Sub-Committee were
in favour of null and void, then A Hughes would go back to the League’s Board for
approval (**Note: this subsequently happened and the Southern League Board approved
a null and void completion)”. "

The simple fact remains that it has to be the same for EVERYBODY. The integrity of the game is what is null and void in my opinion now.
League 1 today have joined League 2 in finishing with a Points per Game scenario.
What is the point of having an overall governing body if everybody can just decide for themselves with the FA's agreement?
Still no reply from them by the way. :-\

The FA have rejected South Shields’s legal challenge against the annulment of levels 3-7.

And that’s the end of it I imagine.

There was no way that the FA being going to be swayed by legal representations and they have confirmed in my mind that they consider Step 3 and below an irrelevent burden.

Whilst not wishing other clubs ill*, I still feel that the AGM Cup is (copyright YeltzDoc) is a route to advancement in the future. When we start playing again, but that is entirely another matter

* not all clubs, exceptions apply :-)

I'll read it properly when I've stopped pretending to work, but looks largely like a pro forma copy/paste job done by some lawyers in Leeds, rather something specific that we've done alone.
The excellent @Ollie_Bayliss on Twitter says that South Shields and Hastings have sent similar to their leagues and it's a reasonable guess that others have too.
Or maybe not? Either way, interesting pressure applied.
I wonder if we've received a reply along the same lines as the one South Shields got?

Alas, if the FA responded at all, it would only be a slightly more polite version of Pressdram vs Arkell

Reading their 'overall conclusion' tells us nothing. It's utter bollocks. It's simply 'we couldn't be bothered to waste our time on the likes of you lowly lot'. Now, how many of you can afford to take us to court? Ha, none, thought so. Now crawl back under your stones.
