I don't care what they are, or when. There are non to particularly look forward to, just us beating everybody put in our way.

Sorry, false alarm. Northern fixtures are out now. It’s not easy to tell the difference now that they are all Bet Victor!

Now 9/4 to win the league. Next closest are St Neots, Bedford Town and Corby - all 8/1.

Amazing how a couple of friendlies against lower opposition can send the odds tumbling so much. Well done anyone who took the 5/1.AwayDayYeltz wrote: ↑17 Jul 2019, 13:58Now 9/4 to win the league. Next closest are St Neots, Bedford Town and Corby - all 8/1.

I'm amazed the bookies keep an eye on such lowly things.andy wrote: ↑17 Jul 2019, 15:39Amazing how a couple of friendlies against lower opposition can send the odds tumbling so much. How many other teams have such mean odds to win their league at his point?
I'm not a bookie and can't be arsed with looking but no doubt someone will know. AWDY maybe?

I'll say that again.
I'll say that again.
I'm back on form in time for the new season

Re: 2019/2020 Season League Winners Odds
Bet Victor did a couple of strange moves. Firstly, they priced up the Step 4 markets and (I think) are the only bookie to do this. Secondly, they had a very similar model of odds - 5/1 for the favs, 25/1 for the biggest outsiders- for nearly every league.
It kind of suggests they don't really understand the details and nuances. So by knowing the ins and outs of what's happening at club level you do actually have an edge on the bookies.
Halesowen's odds coming in from 5/1 to 9/4 won't be because we've played well in our friendlies. It'll be because people have piled on the cash at 5/1 and they'll have had to react to limit their exposure.
I would say 9/4 is a fair price for us, now. We expect to compete but it's a long season and you never really know how strong the rest of the league will be. Bromsgrove would have fancied their chances last season but didn't win the league, so there are no guarantees.

9/4 before we've kicked a ball though? We're not Man City! You're right piearce9 it has to be because a lot of bets have gone on at fives to justify it but no way would I put anything on at 9/4 when we have no idea what other teams might be like yet. There might be another Peterborough Sports out there.
