Spam

Post by YeltzDoc » 10 Jun 2011, 20:43

We really are getting a lot of spammers on here at the moment.

Sorry if anyone's seen anything that offends.

Only Lutley's ramblings.
The ploughman he's a bonnie lad,
His mind is ever true, jo,
His garters knit below his knee,
His bonnet it is blue, jo.
Then up wi' him my ploughman lad,
And hey my merry ploughman!
Of a' the trades that I do ken,
Commend me to the ploughman.

We've changed things so that new forum members now need to be approved first.

It should stop the spammers but for genuine people it will mean a short delay I'm afraid before they can post. It's a real pain I'm afraid, but until we find a better solution it's probably for the best.

Yep.

We're getting 50+ spam registrations a day which Poll, Guesty and I are deleting as fast as they appear.  It's a right pain and we're looking at either updating the forum software or moving to these blokes http://www.phpbb.com/

On the plus side though, having taken advantage of all of the offers, certain parts of my anatomy are now comfortably long and turgid enough to replace the crossbar at the Old Hawne Lane End should it ever break.
