Worse Than Bettles
I read this week's Halesowen News as saying that

Come on then LLL, you haven't taken the bait, let's have Don's stats.

Re: Worse Than Bettles
Wasn't Don our super sub in those days? A great player to fill in for Paul & Lee and Geoff Moss when needed. 61 goals from 105 starts including 2 hat tricks against Blakenall % Gresley Rovers, the latter was:
12/11/1985 PEMBERTON MOORE SHERWOOD LACEY RANDLE HEATH RHODES MOSS PENN JOINSON P SMITH D***
sub: INGRAM
Don had played at Wembley for Willenhall before being in our FA Vase Wembley squads. Don now helps out in Steve Shilvock's business, which provides the link back to the title of this thread - both Ian Bettles and Steve were taking off from Birmingham Airport on their hols on the same day that I did this summer.
Bait taken :-)

Paul Stringer was in that Willenhall Vase side too if memory serves, and I think he and Don scored their goals that day.

And I think that we discussed this somewhere else, but is that Steve Ingram on the bench for us?

Re: Worse Than Bettles
There's Don, lurking at the back by the dartboard.
Odd that they virtually give you his full address. I used to see him occasionally on Bloomfield Street washing his car.
A fascinating insight into both his life and mine...
I remember that Paul Stringer had died, he was a decent player, although I don't think he played for us for long (55 games and 5 goals).
And very exciting to see an old favourite of mine just below him on the list - Peter Sturgess (52-4).

Oooh, now I'd have said that Richard Heath was later.
Even though his "Soul Glow" hairstyle suggests mid-70's.
