Re: Hednesford Updates
Second half was tough but great fighting spirit shown! As previously said I'm feeling very positive tonight!

Re: Hednesford Updates
Can't argue with any of that. I guess ultimately the real enjoyment we want is from the 90 minutes we see on the pitch and the the last 2 matches have certainly delivered. Played some decent stuff and the effort was there for all to see. Well done lads!

Re: Hednesford Updates
Thoroughly enjoyed tonight - especially the result!
Looked good in first half but sat too deep in second and, inevitably, conceded.
There seems a lot of confidence now and we need to maintain the momentum that we have started in the
last few days.

Re: Hednesford Updates
Halesowen Town 2 Hednesford Town 1
Much-improved Halesowen established a confidence-boosting two-goal first-half lead to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season and end Hednesford’s three-game winning sequence.
In an entertaining first half, commanding John McAtee fed lively Daniel Udoh after just six minutes but defender James Mutton made an excellent last-ditch tackle in the Hednesford penalty area. The visitors then went close in the 9th minute in their best chance of the first period after goalkeeper Dan Platt spilled Danny Glover’s low free-kick from the edge of the penalty area, but the home defence closed down quickly to block the rebound.
With Halesowen looking energetic up front, Roland Agbor’s 16th minute cross was cleared for a corner and Oliver Finney then had a golden chance for the Yeltz in the 22nd minute, but he blasted wide after controlling in front of goal.
But the Yeltz did take the lead after 31 minutes through an own goal when McAtee’s shot struck unlucky MUTTON to leave goalkeeper Jose Veiga stranded as the ball nestled in the net. It became 2-0 just five minutes later when Veiga failed to gather above his head and the ball ran on for UDOH to outpace the defence and convert into an empty net from a wide angle.
Five minutes before the interval Udoh flashed another shot wide as the Pitmen defence opened once more and the Yeltz could’ve wrapped the game up with a third goal just four minutes into the second period after Mo Diop put Agbor free down the right, only for his low shot to drift just wide of the far post.
But Hednesford gradually worked their way back and began to dominate as substitute Jordan Graham hit a 20-yard shot at Platt after 57 minutes and Platt collected fellow substitute Joey Butlin’s header following a cross from Tyler Weir two minutes later.
The recently rejuvenated Pitmen finally pulled a goal back in the 63rd minute when GRAHAM latched onto a forward ball and did well to cut inside to hit a low shot past Platt into the far corner. Captain Tom Thorley then came close to a 72nd minute equaliser when his 20-yard shot fell just inches wide.
But Halesowen proved hard to break down and defended their lead with determination as Hednesford piled on the late pressure with Platt collecting a series of high balls into his penalty area from corners and Ben Bailey’s long throw-ins.
Halesowen Town: Dan Platt; Roland Agbor (Bradley Lewis 65), Kyle Morrison, Oliver Finney, Dominic Smith (John Hill 82), Asa Charlton (c), Mo Diop (James Spray 50), Jordan Goddard, Daniel Udoh, John McAtee, Jack Kelly. Subs Not Used: Cameron Steele, Tom Parsons.

Re: Hednesford Updates
After being told I waffle on too much in match threads i’m keeping it short and sweet tonight:
Fantastic win again, great performance by the team, nice to see some football played on the ground. You can see the confidence in the team now, think the result from Saturday has galvanised the players and they look a lot more hungrier for it now. It’s still gonna be a battle but we look like we’re up for it now so let’s hope we can carry on this run and accumulate enough points to be out of trouble fairly soon.
Up the Yeltz!

Re: Hednesford Updates
Really important win last night. To get the negatives out the way with; officials were poor, we should’ve been out of sight but our finishing just wasn’t quite there and the substitutions were baffling again.
However, I think the performance last night particularly in the first half was fantastic, I can’t believe this is the same team I saw play so poorly only a few matches ago. 5/6 players looked a level above everyone else for us as to be expected with some of the loan signings I guess. We finally seem to be cutting out the long ball and looking to switch the play and exploit the space. The attitude and performance of the players was so different from last time. They looked like they cared and gave their all, can’t ask for anything more than that. As everyone else has said really good game to watch despite the fact Hednesford seemed unorganised, we stuck to our guns and got the result we deserved. So credit where it’s due to John there.
One a final note, imagine if we could carry the atmosphere from the last few minutes in the shed on to the next game, the players would get a massive boost.

Re: Hednesford Updates
forgetting all the sh1te off the pitch (as seems to be the case on here) for a minute the next match away at Altrincham is a success in my eyes if we don't get mullered (a point or more would be an absolute bonus). They are on a impressive run of form since their slow start, I'd go as far as to say they're probably favourites at this stage for the title, early days, but their budget must be impressive (take a look at their player pics on their website!).....
7 points from the last 9 is good and if we set up the same way defensively as the last three matches, then we can certainly give them something to think about if everyone is on form

Re: Hednesford Updates
To be fair to the management - two of the subs were due to injuries.
