Of the people I spoke to before kick off, none were optimistic about our chances today. This has proven to be correct as although Basford were far from exceptional, they did not need to be anything special. For whatever reason (budget, beaten to players by better clubs, or being bereft of ideas), we have not shown signs of improvement this season and I do not see it coming unless a change of manager comes. As this is unlikely, here's to another year without an FA cup run, and a continuation of John Hill's magnificent, inspiring management.
