Early bird season ticket prices announced...

Post by Josh » 03 Apr 2017, 10:36

The club have offered a good early bird deal (it has to be said, a great price by the way) for season tickets for next year’s campaign.

However for me the price of the season ticket is irrelevant. I will NOT be renewing. I will also NOT be putting a single penny into the club – and haven’t done so for a while now, unless big changes are made in the summer. As someone who was part of the FotG draw, a season ticket holder, a fan who purchased official merchandise, beer and food from the game, you'd think such a stance wouldn't be taken lightly by the club.

I think we all know what changes are needed, and this has been subject for debate for a while now via various platforms on social media. Sadly, we know changes will not happen and fans’ concerns will continue to be ignored.

The sad thing from a personal perspective is that there will no doubt be a handful of people involved within the club, who will have read my twitter posts this morning and will read this post thinking ‘good! We don’t want supporters with that attitude, and you are not welcome’. This is worrying, as this attitude is not helpful. It’s not conducive to building a relationship between the club and fans.

There have been a number of concerns fans like me have raised time and time again over the past, roughly 2 years now, which have seemingly been laughed at, brushed aside and ignored. This is no longer the friendly club which was a joy to watch football at with good honest people, it has completely changed, for the worse. The Yeltz I fell in love with, has sadly died.

I know that some will think that it’s me being a negative fan, who is talking absolute sh*te, but that’s how I honestly feel.

So as of next season it will be away games only for me. Love the club, but I’m not a fan of the current regime.

You probably wont be on your own in not renewing. A couple of others have said to me that despite the saving, the standard and enjoyment level make it simply not worth it.
Regards the merchandise, hopefully whilst the mickey mouse crest is still emblazoned on it, people will still not buy it. I guess nobody will still care though as long as Stour don't go up. If they do maybe our pounds will take on more significance.

My logic says, "how can they offer an early bird season ticket . when they don't know at what level we will be playing ?" And if it is an attempt to bring in cash to tide us over for this season, what assurances would be given regarding refunds ?

Hi Ken, not one for posting on here these days, it's not an early bird season ticket offer, it's an offer to reward existing season ticket holders, as for the timing of it, it has nothing to do with anything apart from the fact that to fit in this offer and then the early bird season ticket offer which comes in May and June I felt it was the best time to promote it.

If the Club were to get relegated and people felt they wanted a refund then this would obviously be considered.

THANKS Wenesbury Stoke, I stand corrected, I think. However, to say that anybody wanting a refund in the event of relegation, would be "considered" is simply not good enough, it should automatically be given.

Not trolling but surely £5.30 is good whichever league we're in

My unfortunate scepticism regarding Town affairs cannot help but rear its head when such an offer is made. Its either a very good gesture to fans or we're well strapped for cash and need it quick. I hope its the former, and if it is, well done and thank you.

Cynically, is there any coincidence in this early bird season ticket offer and the fact we've got five away games and only two home (lack of income)?

It's worth noting that these away games include two long trips to Workington and Blyth. Coincidence - I think not...

Also, it's widely accepted our budget is low, so the logical thing to do is lower season ticket prices! Yeah right.

In essence we need to sell twice as many season tickets as we did last year just to increase our budget (assuming we've not got outside investment).

I find this worrying. If the budget is supposedly low now, what's it going to be like this time next season? Assuming Halesowen Town, as we know it, is around then.

I firmly believe that this is a quick cash cow to fund the rest of the season. But the short sighted nature of this will only bite us in the arse next season.

Then again. I'm a cynic.

I see on Twitter that our manager is 'delighted' to have secured our league status.
To me this says an awful lot about our lack of ambition as a club.
As well as a number of others I will not be renewing my season ticket - I am not prepared to put up with this crap any longer.
We desperately need a change at the top and anyone with any degree of intelligence can see this .......................
