Going down?

Post by andy » 11 Mar 2017, 17:56

Well how does everybody see it? 12 games left, 8 away from home, some horrendously long trips to good sides and a couple of 'surely even we cant lose to them' type games. Personally I cant see where the next point is coming from so games in hand will probably mean nothing. Off the field shenanigans may relegate us anyway but I am starting to think we may do it under our own steam. Maybe our 'volunteers' ( and that's currently worth its own thread ::) ) are sourcing us a pitch that we are capable of playing football on because we cant play on this one. Thank god Asa is still playing, I think we would be giving Skelmersdale a run for their money otherwise. Once all the shits hit the fan by the end of this season I fear we could be down and out.

Yes Andy , but at least we'd be playing at the lower level , how low remains to be seen, on what some,( what volunteers ???), consider would be a decent surface. In what capacity are these volunteers , sourcing out a new pitch for us. Oh I forgot only they count as our opinion is n't worthy of consideration. I for one would hate to see grass replaced by any kind of plastic, and mainly due to the fact that the playing surface has been maintained on the cheap and without any expert knowledge in recent times.

Nailed on, regardless of what the FA throw at us. The question then is how many relegations it will be.

Completely demotivated by things as they are. Change is needed urgently. The current regime and their hangers on seem to think that this is acceptable. Look at the table, we're outside the bottom 4 on goal difference. Your lack of commitment to things like the pitch, sponsors, etc is coming home to roost.

Defend it Steve and the Family, i dare you!

Personally, and im not interested in any of the squabbling, I think we will get a further 7 or 8 points. It may keep us up or not depending on the FA and or other teams.

If we do stay in this division, then changes are definitely needed. I can also see three or four of the current first teamers (the better ones!) leaving.

What the club needs is money. Im not sure where its coming from.

It's the money that is of concern for me. The most likely source appears to have a somewhat troubled history.

As for the rumoured 3G pitch, haven't further 3G pitches been suspended in Holland due to serious health concerns for players?

Just googled that. To my mind its inconclusive. Theres a number quoted on one report of players who developed cancer and pitches are blamed....(in America). However i cant see a comparative in relation to total numbers of players as a percentage nor to general population. And youd have to ingest huge quantities. Probably way less than is being belched into the air.

Youd hope the tests were thorough.

On a side note, nowt wrong with that grass greengrocers use in displays. Its cheap, low maintenance and has added skin and blood collecting properies.

I think the 3g bit is a bit of a sidebar, although I know that others will have different opinions to me and I respect those. The troubling part for me is the moral implications of accepting money from that source.

And i get that. But faced with the pitch we have and maintenance/weather issues, its a no brainer. Least of our worries though tbh.
