I learn with sadness from the North Prems home page, that Nene Park, former home of our rivals Rushden & Diamonds, is soon to be demolished. With the exception of a six goal FA Cup defeat, it was always a pleasure to go to such a purpose built impressive stadium, funded by Doc Martins boots. A loss of yet another great venue

I'll never forget when we went there and beat Rushden in that top of the table clash a lifetime ago.

A shame it all fell apart for them, but IMHO it was never clear they were sustainable long term without the Dr Martens money.

Gosh what a waste. It was like a mini palace. I was fortunate enough to have had a look at some of the facilities and rooms there on one visit. They had a chandelier worth more than most grounds!
