Getting the Grove ready!
We need to start forming a working party to prepare the Grove for next season.
Everyone is well aware of the negligent state the ground is currently in and the reasons it has got into this condition. The problems that were preventing people getting involved in ground maintenance have gone, any club at our level can only function properly with volunteer help, HTFC has always had a good group of people helping with ground maintenance and now is the time to start to redevelop this.
Not everyone has the time to get involved with 'off the pitch' activity and there are very few who can afford the time to be at every maintenance session, but if we can develop a group of 20/30 people who can give some time then we can spread the load.
We will meet at the Grove at 10.00am tomorrow to start to put a structure in place, anyone who is willing and able to give some time please PM me with contact details. We would also welcome help from any tradesmen (plumbers, carpenters, electricians etc) as there are severasl specific jobs to be completed before the season.

Re: Getting the Grove ready!
Have been reading several comments like "Can't wait for the new season" which is fantastic, neither can I, my point is on Sunday a rather small work
party of just 8 people turned up to have a go at trying to get our rather neglected stadium back to a decent level.
I appreciate people don't always have the time, I can vouch for that I work nearly 60 hours a week, have 2 kids and run an under 7's football team. Despite the fact I don't want to preach, we have a ground that needs alot of work which won't do itself, at the moment any potential new signings would not have the best opinion of the football club if shown around, which in my view I wouldn't want to. What I am trying to say is we nearly lost this club, we have a new owner who clearly cares about the club, he has already put his hand in his pocket and brought items to sort the ground out, wants a relationship with fans, isn't this just great news!? Or do people have short memories of the Ingram and M**s*n regimes ?
Lets have some pride get this ground and our club up and running and show our support for new owner and Shaun.
Come on everyone a little effort by many is better than alot by a mere few!

Here Here. ;-)
I went down a fair bit last season when it was required and will be back down again this Sunday.
Could not make last weekend due to a pre arranged game of golf.

ZeeZee - will the work party be continuing this following Sunday also?
in defense of those who didn't make it, the word from what i know wasn't well known, only about 24 hours notice after posting, im not sure if it was mentioned in the Yeltz bar, but hopefully more people will get the message and be down to the next one, to spread the load, to get the ground up to scratch.
The Hard parts been done for us, being the take over - time to do our bit.

Re: Getting the Grove ready!
On behalf of the Trust Board, I would like to thank those that have been down to the Grove to help. I appreciate not everyone can commit the time and also take on board an earlier comment in this thread that only short notice was given for last Sunday.
There is much to do around the Grove in order to return it to a home we can be proud of, so it is important we get as many people involved as possible.
The groundsman currently needs help during the day to move soil onto the pitch, if anyone can assist PM me on here and I will find out times. There will be people at the Grove on Saturday & Sunday this week, so if you can spare some time all help is appreciated.

Re: Getting the Grove ready!
People needed on Tuesday evening as well as today and tomorrow. Its going to take a lot of supporter involvement to get the Grove ready and supporters need to understand it is an ongoing programme. Now is the time to show if we want HTFC or not.
