Re: Ilkeston FC Updates
Pleased that we have three points but it has to be said that was very much par. We did what we had to do.
Second half was much improved, but still far from perfect. Ilkeston are really poor. To the point where 2-1 flattered them and we were no where near our best, but we did enough to warrant the win.
Platt and Anderson are too good for this level, and have been the difference in most, if not all positive results this year. Great saves and great solo efforts.
I also thought Digie looked good when he got the ball at his feet.
This is a very good group of players. Who can challenge any team in this league.
Let's hope the good run of results continue. I'd love a good cup run.

I thought we looked solid and untroubled, never created a great deal but worked very hard all over the pitch. Kaiman class. Job done IMO.

Interesting to see Saturdays cup opponents Nantwich were 2 down with 7 minutes left and won 3-2.

That's how they more or less beat Marine, to get through, I believe.andy wrote:Interesting to see Saturdays cup opponents Nantwich were 2 down with 7 minutes left and won 3-2.

So despite the club being unbeaten all through September and 2 wins from the FA Cup 1st round, there's still negativity from some, baffling....
Let's hope for a bumper crowd on Saturday when the FA Cup comes to town and raise some money for charity.
The fans photos will be taken between 1.15 and 2.15, some slots have been booked tonight so arrive early to avoid disappointment. The costs are as follows:
£1 - photo can be downloaded or emailed to you.
£1.50 - photo will be printed.
These are the minimum donations, obviously people can donate more if they wish.

Not sure if the 'negative' comment was aimed at me or not, but I don't think I was too negative?
It's interesting to see that John Hill commented on Twitter that we were much improved second half.
Also, Matt Clarke commented on Twitter that there's a lot of scope for us to improve.
Pretty much what I said in my previous post.
As I keep saying, we've got some very good players in this squad, and I do believe we're capable of more than what we're seeing right at this time. Maybe I am being unreasonable, maybe I'm expecting too much?

Re: Ilkeston FC Updates
Only saw the second half last night due to work commitments.
Looked good from what I saw and we seem to be creating a lot more chances on goal which lacked throughout August. The likes of Chilton will always be a threat with the ball at their feet. Anderson looks to be growing stronger and stronger.
Digie looked very good an composed second half, makes a difference having some height in the team.
Only frustration which I am sure will annoy John Hill is conceding a late goal (not a negative but a frustration).
On a side note... For those who don't know it was Jay Denny's 200th appearance for the club recently at the game vs Stourbr*dge. Fingers crossed the club have arranged something for him like they did with Griff.
