Personally I feel really sorry for Ant. It must be so disheartening trying your best knowing that because of circumstances behind his control its never going to look any good. It needed money thrown at it in the first place so his weekly maintenance could have left it looking in top condition. I guess were all lucky he even bothers.

No criticism of Ant, at all. The guy works with virtually both hands tied behind his back.He deserves all credit for achieving what he does with the awful base that he has to work on.

The "playing surface" ain't great, we all know that.

Just throwing this out there.....what if the club made the decision that, in order to fix the pitch, we'd need to cut the playing budget to fund it and lose a handful of first team players. Would you still want the pitch to be improved? Because presumably the money has to come from somewhere?

You right gents it doesn't look great despite 15k spent on it in last 2 years. I've had a few meetings with firms about 4G but I was unsure about it. Thanks for helping me make my mind up.

You're kidding, right?
Proper aeration, weedkiller, new turf where necessary, good top dressing at right times, bingo.

Maybe the money spent on changing the badge should of been spent on the pitch? :o

Can only presume that £15k is a typo?

'Successful businessman chooses 4G to win back dissenters'........amazing!

You're left wondering which part of my above headline is just winding people up.......

Why is 4G considered to be so bad? Most top flight pitches are semi artificial surfaces now anyway and it's not like the astro turf of twenty years ago. I've never understood why people complain about it so much
