Re: Yeltzland iPhone/iPad app
Raiden - that's sort of what I'm working on already!
To be honest that's all I'm really writing the app for as I've been wanting this for ages. I've tried turning on alerts in the Twitter app for the official account, but having them on all the time was too much.
Therefore I'm working on something that will send Tweets from the official account as notifications from say an hour before kickoff until an hour after the end of the game. That should cover the stuff you need to know when the match is on I hope, especially as the Twitter updates are really good nowadays.
I've got it mostly working and it's working OK, so definitely will get it done before the season starts.
Mr Bobble - no chance I'm afraid. Even if I was so inclined I don't think it would add any value, as you can just have multiple tabs open in your browser and get the same effect (the app just combines all the existing stuff into one app so it's easier to switch between them on your phone)

Must admit, I use the app on a daily basis now rather than use safari on the iPhone.
Much much batter and so much easier to use. Great work Poll.

I can't believe the club have allowed this app to continue. How dare we move forward with the times and allow such modern monstrosities!yeltz85 wrote:Must admit, I use the app on a daily basis now rather than use safari on the iPhone.

Re: Yeltzland iPhone/iPad app
I know you're "only joking"/trolling, but that's a pretty daft thing to say. I've written this app on my own initiative for the benefit of everyone, and it's nothing to do with the club. Although I'm sure no-one minds, and the club obviously is part of "everyone", but I'd do this anyway with or without any official blessing.RaidenYeltz wrote:I can't believe the club have allowed this app to continue. I've been doing similar things for well over 20 years (fanzine/website/app), because like many of us we've been supporting this club for a long, long time and I want to give something back. You can be forward thinking as well as having supported the team for over 30+ years - through a lot of good times and some awful ones.
Everyone here just wants best for the club, and it would be nice if people remembered that a bit more rather than this constant sniping.

Poll, very much a tongue in cheek comment. Love the app. Hopefully the club back and endorse it.

Re: Yeltzland iPhone/iPad app
New version of the app is out (1.3):
1. I've added a new "game time tweets" option.
This will send you notifications whenever there is a new Twitter post just before/during/just after a game.
It's off by default, so you've have to turn it on if you want to see the alerts (there's a switch in the "More..." tab). Obviously you won't actually see any until the new season starts in August.
Hopefully this will work reliably as it's hard to test fully before the season starts, so we'll see how it goes.
2. I've also added a refresh button to the Twitter page to make it easier to update (and it refreshes itself every minute now anyway)

Not an Appleite, and would love to see an Android version, but appreciate the time / expense this may take, but having seen it working on a friends Iphone yesterday I must say its fantastic, excellent work Poll.
