By George!

Post by andy » 02 May 2016, 12:25

Westy, the awarding of Georges seems to have dried up. To most of us they are rarer than hens teeth already (though not to a certain V*lla fan who has THREE! ;) ). Many good things have occurred of late, especially Yeltz tv for example, so dust a few off. Even mrs Queen isn't as tight with her gongs as you are.
And you dare give one to Ken if he starts pleading again. ;D

It would appear i have been quite forgetful with the hens teeth remark. I was indeed honoured with THREE Georges myself back in December '13 for my 'A Fishy Tale'
So let me see, thats THREE for me, THREE for Rob, and for Ken? erm, nope cant find any. ;D

In a game played under a mackeral sky
we scored twice, with one in reply
the referee was a fish out of water
he let things go he shouldn't of oughta

We reeled them in, then a pen to us
it seemed quite soft, it caused a fuss
in the back of the net went Christies shot
we rose like salmon, i kid you not

Talking of salmon, Joe hull leapt high
a well headed goal should now settle the tie
a whale of a time we should now have had
but we sat too deep, i was not glad

At us they came, wave after wave
they had a pen then a wonderful save
kept us in front, cod only knows
how we won this game and i was froze!

Sorry you just had to be stood by us.......Image
Excellent, Brother Avery! :)

On a par with Scouses' re-write of 'The Deadwood Stage'. Could you put a tune to it?

Is this by way of your application to become The Mighty Yeltz Poet Lorry Lot?

O0 O0 O0 - it must be good!

I see that brummie has piped up again. I do believe that mr westy was over flippant in awarding Georges for trivial unimportant things such as crap poetry scribes and match report scribes. However for salient posts, service to the com munity and Halesowen Town FC, or promising not to sing at matches, I find none have been awarded. I myself gave up expecting one long ago and would n't demean myself by begging. I proclaim westy to be a charlatan and frivolous in his awards whereas people worthy of awards such as myself or John C go unnominated. And that is all I have to say on the matter.
(brummie if some of my wording is unfamiliar to you or are too long for you to read and digest, I advise you stick to reading the sun and not try to compete with a wordsmith like what I am )

For a post such as this I would deduct a George.
Luckily for you Mr R only the GeorgeGod has the power to do this. Were I able to do this you would be languishing in a negative George situation. I fear from that lowly position in society you could never prosper again. You would only have yourself to blame. >:(

I do wish you two would stop squabbling! This sort of behaviour brings me to consider deducting Georges.

At this time, I'm currently mulling over my end of season Georges (ESG's) and will be making the announcement shortly. But don't hold your breath ;)
