one of the great things about nonleague football/life is the people you meet I can't remember the first time I met a lot of people but I'm guessing you probably saw me for the first time on that occasion in 2004. One of my best trips early on was a Monday trip down to Dover when I blagged time off college by over exaggerating the importance of the match! My next one which was before this would be a trip up to Doncaster for the FA trophy match. And of course Guiseley last yearJohnC wrote:Kings Lynn - My first away game with Yeltz 2004. Met some Yeltz Fans for the first time - Met car sharers version 1
Chippenham some years later- Met car sharers version 2
Sutton Coldfield Jan 2014 - Took Car sharers version 3
Twerton Park - My first pitch invasion having lost play off final and Ref sent Dean Breannen off after final whistle. Volted fence in one to give the ref some choice words. Polite but informative!
Belper - Pub take over pre-match, winning the league pitch invasion.
Whitby - A great day at the seaside - although the wind spoilt the game.
Blythe - Another seaside trip via South Shields.
On a few occassions over the last couple of seasons the quote about away games has been "nice day spoilt only by the result".
That's football !!

I bet you did have some choice words going over a volted fence....JohnC wrote: Twerton Park - My first pitch invasion having lost play off final and Ref sent Dean Breannen off after final whistle. Volted fence in one to give the ref some choice words. Polite but informative!

I remember the day at Twerton Park. It was great when Dean Brennan scored and celebrated with us behind the goal. Otherwise, it was the most shameful display I have seen by the fans in the 22 years I have been going to the Yeltz. They were obnoxious but harmless students. Non league football(!!) should NOT be about what went on that day.andy wrote:I bet you did have some choice words going over a volted fence....JohnC wrote: Twerton Park - My first pitch invasion having lost play off final and Ref sent Dean Breannen off after final whistle. But well done for "volting" what I assume was an electric fence that I didn't see

Purely in terms of ground and facilities, I have to say Blyth. Good ground, nice bar and a pool table that I always lose on (via potting the white after the black).
Fan of Nantwich purely for a lovely pub outside the ground.
'Incident' - Belper. Without doubt.
Enjoyed Sheffield too. During the 3-2 win during the title winning season. Great game, result and another cracking pub which served great beer.

I hope there are many more happy memories to come.
A good run in the FA Cup with a match live on TV would be nice. Reminds me Yeading another great away day spoilt only by the result.
