As usual Yeltz 85 you are too quick to ridicule and mock any post you disagree with, whilst this time completely missing the point I was making. So I'll spell it out for you. We were told by an " insider" , half way through last season that there would be an exodus of players and not all of them through John Hills' wishes, but we were misled as to the reasons of some of the reasons for their departures. The replacements in no way have come up to the standard of the players who left. I was neither advocating or supporting Trevors' departure but what I would say is that Christie, Haseley , Ford, and Christian Green would walk into this present below par squad.

Tonksy would, too. Severely underrated by some Yeltz fans.

Sutton have now in the last eight league games Won 0, Drew 1, Lost 7.

In that case, that doesn't make our cup exit against them last week look too clever.

Precisely. We can only assume the 8 teams Sutton have played have a bigger budget than they do though

I reckon in those seven defeats the conditions were unplayable, too...

On further inspection, four of those 7 defeats came against teams placed 2nd, 3rd,4th and 6th and others included S*********e and Barwell who are likely top 6 candidates with games in hand.

Also within the same period Sutton have beaten Darlington and Stalybridge, no mean achievements, to make it to the first round of the Trophy and now have a home match against Barrow of the National League and of course they're in the next round of the Doodson Cup.

Seven points behind us, but with two games in hand. Still in two cup competitions.

13 league games left to play at Coles lane whereas we only have 9 games left at home...

Yep...... Totally. But I suppose when the fitness levels are not there.

Not really the point.

Players like Ben, Green, Tonks and Forde were let go in the summer, by the management and were replaced with what many fans feel, including myself, bellow par players.

Been asked by John Hill to put this on the forum after members of his staff have been reading the forum as of late,

'Ben left quite early and made a decision that he wanted to play closer to home as the M6 was creating problems even getting to training. Please note Ben and Trev were best mates and he never joined Sutton'

'Green was offered a deal and said he was 80% a Yeltz player. He later joined Stourbr*dge.'

'Tonks shock hands on a deal and pretty much left by text to join Stourbr*dge'

'Forde was dissapointed he want offered a deal earlier than he saw. But at that point the budget for the season wasn't set. When a deal was offered he accepted a Sutton offer which he said was 10 mins from his home'

Fair play. It is good to have it clarified as to the whys and wherefores of the departures. My personal bug bear was letting Ben go, but if it was of his making and for the reasons stated I shall certainly not question it again.

From what I have heard and read the new right back is real quality, very comfortable on the ball and should be an excellent addition to the squad.
