Isaac Cooper

Post by yeltz85 » 23 Nov 2015, 08:54

I see on twitter he looks to be off...
Like to thank @halesowentownfc for everything good luck for the rest of the season
Wonder if he will end up at Alvechurch or Sporting Khalsa? They seem to be the ones spending big at the moment, have good squads and backing the managers.

This would be disappointing if true...

Signed for Sporting Khalsa.

Does this mean that Alvechurch and Sporting Khalsa have bigger budgets than us? (Nadat signed for Alvechurch rather than the Yeltz, Sarge gone to Alvechurch; now Cooper to Khalsa!)

That would be worrying, and frankly embarrassing, if that's the case! They're two levels bellow us! ???

Why would it be embarrassing ?

Both clubs mentioned are backed by owners throwing money at the teams to get them progressing through the leagues.
Salford probably had a bigger budget than us last year and were in a league below.

The finances of Non league football is not all about how many fans turn up, how many beers get bought, how many strips get sold, but more about how many thousands the owner / financial backer of the club is willing to spend and ultimately never get back.

Wigan & Coventry have bigger budgets than a lot of the Championship teams but are in a division lower.

Isn't it frustrating that local clubs two levels down can attract such investment that their budget is bigger than ours.

It's frustrating that most teams in our current league supposedly have investors throwing money at their club and we're just living in our means and being self sufficient (which is good to see, to an extent).

Are most clubs just getting lucky and attracting such investment. If only we could be as lucky as those, and have investors throwing money at us! (That's the impressions I get from various posts from yourself and Guesty).

Be careful what you wish for Josh.

Investment in the right way would be ideal, there are many ways in which that can take place in safe way that wouldn't be detrimental to a football club. Throwing money at things though isn't the answer. I would never wish for that.

Can't argue with the gist of that. Which is why it's good to see us be self sustained.

I agree raiden, it is embarrassing that players are leaving to drop 2 divisions. I guess it says more about the clubs they are going to than us, but if we cant compete with ANY of the clubs round here it doesn't bode well.

Just shows how much money talks in this league if players are willing to drop down a standard to play.
Loyalty appears to be diminishing every year - Tonks as an example.

Solid foundations need to be in place prior to any investment - we are heading in the right direction but there needs to be an element of patience - something thats difficult with football supporters. Look how far we have come in the last three years and even more so since the dark days earlier in the decade.

Theres still lots of learning to be had but believe me, we are going in the right direction.
