I dont think it would be right for John to put that out on the website. Fans Forum he explained that. As we all know John is approachable after the games on match days too.

What this was more intended for was to keep people up to date on whats happening at the moment on the footballing side of things.

I think it'd be good for the club to set goals for the forthcoming season, so fans can fairly judge the performance.

He did, at the Fans Forum which everyone was invited to.

Don't think it would be right to place on here or on the website half way through the season.

So in order to know the expectations of a club I pay to watch, before a ball is kicked in buying a season ticket, I must attend a fans forum? That seems a bit odd, to me.

Not everyone can make these events...

For the record, I'm a fan of John Hill's. I think he's a damn good manager and what he's achieved during his time here is brilliant - goes without saying.

The fact we've got a good manager (I don’t always agree with selections etc, but I reckon every fan would pick a different 11…) and the fact we achieved a respectable mid tabled finish last season, leads me to believe we have the capability to push for the play offs. Not necessarily reach the play offs, but push. Over the course of last season and this, I’ve not been overly impressed with many sides…

If that expectation is unfairly high (for what ever reason), then it’d be nice to know, so I can lower it and not judge harshly.

Agree with you that not everyone can make the events. But, you find me one non league club where they state their ambitions on an official website. ;)

Well that was easy...

“Promotion is our ultimate aim this season but we want a good cup run on the back of that,” added Hackett.
I didn't have to go to a fans forum to find that out, either... ;)

That's not on an official club website though is it. Journalists etc.

I think me and you have different expectations about what you want to see as the club's aims & ambitions.

If just 19 words is what you want in the local newspaper then I dont see why you are moaning at the club when you have numerous opportunities at home games to speak to Colin, John, Matt & Kev.

Nice editing, Guesty! ;)

Does it matter whether it's an official website or other. The manager has stated what he expects for the season.

By the way, I'm not moaning, in fact I praised and welcomed the initial idea of hearing from management and players alike via articles on the website. I think it's an excellent idea and can't wait to hear from those within the club over the course of the season.

I've just responded with what I'd like to hear, to which I was told 'you should have gone to the fans forum, to know that'. Which is a rather childish response, really.
