No I don't. Sorry. We left out our best player and the team should have been built around him. This is where I think it's defend the manager at all costs. No, it was a hopeless decision, he didn't suit the long ball style and never got a chance. But john hill knows best. Of course he deserves first team football

Laity spent a lot of his time injured and was in an out of the team. When he chose to leave we were on a winning run hence he could only make the bench.
Up till recently he did not even feature in stour team and didn't even get on subs bench.
So your plan would of been to build a team round a player that has drifted in and out of 3 club teams then?

No, but we don't have any players who have a spark or any creativity. Lait did, and people are sick to death of the style of football. So when the one player who did have creativity leaves and we smash it long constantly it's easy to come to the conclusion that players like Lait aren't welcome

Keyon is creative Daniels is exciting on the ball Reece takes on players and does a mean free kick jmg can excite on the ball all these players are at the club now and I think are just as good if not better that laity.
My opinion which no doubt you will not agree with.

To get back to the original point, we've had 12 home league games of which only 4 have been on a Tuesday and there's another home game next Saturday. Moreover we've played 3 cup ties at home on a Saturday. We've played just 9 away of which 6 have been on a Tuesday. (Just think what the hone attendances could have looked like if home and away matches had been transposed!)

Even allowing for 2 rearranged home games I don't recall such an imbalance of so many Saturday home games in years, when there have been no postponements due to the weather. I could be wrong but I don't remember it being so poorly or randomly organised in the Southern League.

Also by the end of November we'll have played half the fixtures . OK, with the winter yet to come there will be some postponements, but there will be 5 months of the season to go.

I know I advocated a rearrangement earlier on but if nothing else we should at least be trying to play away. The whole thing seems daft.

You see, this is where the insults come. I have a different opinion to you so I am a waste of time. You are demonstrating precisely what I'm saying. This is why the club feels like it does at the moment

The 'entertainment' discussion point is a good one. As a football supporter I don't go expecting to be entertained, I go to support my team.

One of my passions is live music, my taste is music is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. I know however, when I buy a ticket pretty much what I'm going to see. I know when I buy my ticket to see Marillion or Muse or for example I'm going to see some incredibly talented musicians who play their instruments with great skill and expertise. When I go to see Erasure with the Mrs (gaining brownie points only you understand) I know the music will be very different. (Thankfully). I'll understand that at the end of the gig I'll have two hours or more of cracking live music (or not with Erasure) and I'll have been entertained in every sense.

Now that is the difference with football, if I rocked up at The Grove expecting to be 'entertained' then I know full well I wouldn't be eight times out of ten because unfortunately in sport the Yeltz lads are up against a team trying to win the game also. It isn't rehearsed like in music or in a show, or a film. In sport and football in particular you can't plan what is going to happen, you can't set your play list and rehearse every detail of the game like you can a gig on stage where 95% of it is pre-planned.

I guess that is the difference with this 'clique' as you call it, we appreciate what John Hill is trying to do and maybe our expectations aren't as high knowing he has only a limited time to work with and improve his players, we don't go expecting to be entertained, we just want the lads to run through walls for us give all they have. If we had the funds of other clubs I'm sure you'd see with all due respect to our players better players, playing better football. We obviously don't and clearly JH is doing the best he can with the tools he has been given. The guy has worked tirelessly to get us to where he has and is continuing to do so. Go and speak with John, go and have 10 minutes with him after a game, he's approachable and will talk to you about some of the issues he faces as a manager of non-league club. He obviously can't put everything on facebook or twitter but if for any reason he wasn't here Halesowen Town would be a poorer club because of it. Do I think he's got everything right? No, he hasn't, he's made mistakes, but so has Mourinho, Ferguson, Shankley, Robson etc etc... and their football hasn't always been entertaining either...

I was a fan of Lait. In fact I'd like to see him back.

But to suggest we should have built a team around him, is madness! At the time, given the squad, John Hill and the club got that spot on.

We currently have some exciting players. As mentioned above. And we see glimpses of what they can do.

I take Rob's point on entertainment. I don't agree with it, because win, lose or draw if you have a certain type of player and your team plays in a certain way you know what you're gunna get from that team.

Everyone has a different view on how football should be played. My idea and view is probably different to a lot of people.

Personally, I like to see a team play with width and pace. Ultimately I want to see my team win. I guess winning football in the best entertainment. I don't expect a Brazil 70's style or anything, at our level. But I'd expect to see the ball on the floor and us try and be creative. I don't think that's too much to expect.

However we haven't been getting great results at home, of late and the football hasn't been the best. Early on this season the football was non-existent. It was atrocious. It's gotten better since but there is still room for improvement. But at least I can see progression.

I hope we continue to see John bring in the likes of Daniels, Reffell etc. Players with pace and creativity. I'm sure he's doing all he can.

I'm down the Grove week in week out, as a season ticket holder, I don't go to be entertained it's something I'd like to see, though.
