Most of the people who don't like whats going on are staying away if you haven't noticed. 200 odd on an international weekend tells you all you need to know, even though some on here will tell you it's nothing to worry about. And I'm not even staying away when I'm able to go! The difference between me and those staying away is that I'm saying what I think and not voting with my feet and it's not proving to be very popular, and to be honest, I don't care. There's definitely a culture at club these days of if you don't agree or stay away you will be insulted, and people don't like it
So, what are the solutions then?
I'm not qualified to do that, but I'm a fan and can see something isn't right. I can say that I don't think insulting people on here or on twitter is acceptable, especially when most of those people have been going for a long time. They dont agree with you, so what? Surely we should be all be working together, but the insults mean this isn't possible. And most of those insults if you look back through are very much directed one way. Instead of ignoring the doubters and saying I'm 150% behind the manager, maybe it would be better if people said "I understand your concern, we could look into it". Take my fitness comments a year ago, I was hounded for it, but it could easily have been looked at. People can always be fitter for starters, but I thought there was a genuine issue. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but it felt like people were too quick to write it off. It's too defensive.

And whilst we are on it, when talking about budget, why did we always leave Chris Lait on the bench when we had him? He's scoring for fun (and apparently Tonks looks a hell of a lot fitter these days)

Let's be honest, the only way attendances will improve is if we win games.

Up and down the country, no matter what level, winning matches attracts fans. It's nothing unique to us.

We've won just twice in the last seven home league games. Couple that with what a fair amount of people see as unattractive football then there is your answer.

I agree with Rob, there's a lot of reasons. Having a run of home games like we have had the last 5 weeks or so, doesn't help.

But the only tried and tested way to get more people in is to attain good results.

How have I insulted you then?
If anything you have insulted me by saying I don't care what fans think!
Attendance was not as bad as I expected yesterday for a shortly rearranged match in crappy conditions against a team that had about 10 fans and based on the fact that game should of been played on a Tuesday night in February the attendance is probably double what we would of got then.

You haven't, sorry, I didn't mean you. But on this forum I've been called a c#$t, I've seen people referred to as tw#/s on twitter etc.

And my point about caring about what fans think is only because of what you said about being 150% behind John Hill. That concerns me but I never intended to insult you. There are a lot of things I think the manager needs to explain, such as Chris Lait for example. Nobody can be exempt from criticism but it does seem there's a shield of protection for this particular manager that I've never seen before. Some will say he deserves it, but there are lots of us who think he doesn't. I don't want promotion, I want SOME entertainment

The attendance figure is worrying because of the international weekend and people want to watch football on a Saturday.

Chris Lait was brilliant for us at the start of last season, unfortunately we weren't winning matches, in fact we started poorly, so John Hill changed the formation to 3 5 2,meaning there was no place in the starting line up for Chris Lait as we had Griff and
Kris Green as wing backs, at the time there wasn't a position for Laity, he wanted first team football (fair play to him) and left, if you remember we went on a tremendous run mid part of the season without him. Surely it's better having a TEAM that plays and gets results rather than ONE player being awesome and not.

The way I see it is Halesowen have different types of supporters, the hardcore which I will include myself in this, there if we win, lose or draw, support the club through thick and thin, those that want to be entertained (which is fine) but sometimes moaning about things constantly when folk are doing their best is a real bore, sometimes if we actually take a step back and realise what people actually do and how hard they work then we may have a different opinion.

Sums it all up. The die hard who form the clique and stick through it thick and thin. Great and very admirable but it won't get the club very far in the long run because occasionally questions have to be asked... just look at the attendances. People are sick of this football! Id consider people who have been going for 22 years the die hard fans

I wouldn't, if they are not getting behind the club and constantly whinge at everything that people do when they have given up their time !

Also can you understand now why Chris Lait left or are you going to ask the same question again in a month or so ?

They get paid a bit don't they? Giving up their time? We've been through this before. I'd love to be paid a small fee to train. And we pay a lot to go in

No I don't. Sorry. We left out our best player and the team should have been built around him. This is where I think it's defend the manager at all costs. No, it was a hopeless decision, he didn't suit the long ball style and never got a chance. But john hill knows best. Of course he deserves first team football

And if Griffiths is a reason, why wasn't he playing yesterday?
