Interesting article in the Anthony Charles' column in the Express & Star where he says the reason given to him was finances...

He would say that though wouldn't he really! He is not going to say he was not good enough or the fact he cost us goals with errors.

So was it the finance or was it value for money? If they were the highest earners as you suggest I don't think they gave better value for money than the likes of Hull, Bragoli, Griffiths and Connolly to name but four.
