Reece HALES Jason OWEN

Post by Laurel Lane Lamper » 06 Sep 2015, 16:55

With the clouds over The Grove becoming greyer (for how long has that bright golden haze disappeard?) is it time for some Sunday afternoon nonsense? After a terrific Hagley Country Club Sunday Lunch, I think it is.

One positive from yesterday is that finally our town name can get completed by players from our line-ups, Reece HALES can get added to our central defender from 20 years ago Jason OWEN. (15 years ago Deadly Doug at The Villa had 2 Directors under him surnamed HALES and OWEN)

On a similar theme, does anyone have their christian and surnames made up of surnames of Yeltz players?
I'll offer our Media Man Shane PAUL (winger under he who can't be mentioned) Calvin GUEST (late 80s striker who had the unenviable task of trying to fill Dean Spink's boots).
Sprout can claim two 1970s players, striker Nicky DAVID and ATKINSON

I was pleased to see us sign Anthony CHARLES this season to go with 1970s keeper Malcolm SHAKESPEARE.

Anyone else?

Easy.

Ada COOPER and shortarse goalkeeper, Andy QUY.

Quy Cooper.

Well, nearly.

Anyway, I'm considering a deed poll job to change my name to "Sylvester Maquemba".

I suppose I can claim Colin Basterfield (no relation) and my first name I think I'll go for Chris Smith who was a striker we had for a few matches some years ago I believe. When I said Smith my voice recognition thought I said nurse which would also have been valid!

And we're doing it wrong.

I should change my name to Cunningham Maquemba, and Wheels will struggle to find someone with the surname "Chris".

Have we had anyone with the surname Christopher?

Skinner and Baddiel requested fans to send these in as part of their series for France '98. They were looking for funny pairings, like COCU-KOHLER, but some bloke wrote in with a full story, which goes like this....

ONO
HADDA
TRIKI
EGGEN
IPOUA
JOB
HOFTUN

After that they closed the competition. Bearing in mind some of the attempts we've had here, I'm not sure we'll be able to even open ours!
