I have to say that any attempt to get new fans is great. This may not be the best way as others have said, but even if its for one visit only its cash in the coffers. That said its all well and good enticing newbies, but my main concern though would be how to keep the fans we ALREADY have.

Yes I agree about your general point about fans we already have. But don't forget, this might antagonise those fans we already have who don't have Yeltz or league season tickets. So on top of the dreadful football, a terrible marketing idea might mean you lose a few befire Saturday

I may be wrong, but I suspect this is more of a one off to get a big crowd Saturday.

Sorry, by one off I meant I don't think the club are thinking any longer term than making a killing Saturday. ie not necessarily looking for return visitors.

I understand your view about treating every one fairly but it's not a totally daft idea.

It's international week so it's clearly an idea to attract regular football fans to a match. This isn't a new idea as other non league clubs have even operated a season long offer to league season ticket holders whereby they can get reduced admission at any game. Forest Green did it last season.

Hello all.

I've raised this point with the club and the response I got was positive in that a deal will be offered later in the season that will benefit Yeltz fans. This is a one off deal aimed at increasing the gate.

With possibly 200 Darlo fans being at The Grove we could do with extra numbers and additional vocal encouragement. With this in mind and with us all working to increase the gate I see no reason why we couldn't get a 700+ gate on Saturday.

International week. You want more people through the gate against 1883, so give them an offer. You're not going to get many people sourcing a season ticket just to save five quid. Sounds fine to me- nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Nothing I've read has convinced me to change my mind. You want a bumper crowd on Saturday, fine, so why make it half price for league season ticket holders only? You might think you have the right intentions but are defeating the whole point by neglecting those who aren't included.

Surely you will get more by making it half price for everybody? It makes absolutely no sense to me

And seriously, some people can't afford to go to Premier League games yet they are the ones who potentially will be charged full price. But somebody who can afford league games is going to get in half price. It's an absolute shambles

It doesn't affect me but I'm angry about it. By definition, if you can afford a league ticket you can afford entry to the Grove, it's those who can't who need the half price offer. It's not fair, but by all means keep defending it if you like. It's wrong

I'm a season ticket holder and I couldn't give a toss. Let the club give it at roll. The plan is to specifically attract those football fans with a loyalty to another club but will give us a blast in their spare time. If ten newbies start following us from the offer, then that's a good outcome. It's not difficult to draw out a negative conclusion, if you are that way inclined. If you have a commercial head screwed on, then it makes perfect sense.

Can you explain to me how if you have a "commercial head" it makes sense? Why is what I am saying less "commerciallly" correct? Why ignore those I have mentioned in my previous post?
