I've just got back from the match today and thought I would provide a brief summary as I'm aware a few people maybe away on holiday.
The first half was lively enough and we managed to get forward and put in plenty of threatening balls into the box and generally played some good positive stuff which was very encouraging and good to see. The pressure we exerted eventually told when a shot from our number 10 deflected in off an atherstone defender to give us a well-deserved lead.
Quite frankly the second half was rather dull and to be honest we created very little although by this point a number of substitutions had been made I thought the triallist who came on the second half was very impressive and quite combative in the forward area although unfortunately he limped off with an injury to wards the end of proceedings. The undoubted highlight of the second half was two of their players arguing amongst themselves about who was to blame for a foul being committed.
Positive points
played some great stuff in the first half Parsons-Smith and Darkin impressed me particularly. On the basis of this first half performance there is plenty to come from this side.
Negatives
second half was quite a lacklustre affair with not much at all created by either side although I suppose we are still in pre-season.
Obviously this is not a particularly comprehensive summary but I thought it would at least give an insight and I'm sure others who were there will add to it if there's anything I've missed or not picked up on.
Roll on Tuesday.

Re: Atherstone friendly 2015
I believe it was the number 10 who was a trialist and Amenku was playing number 9 although it was somewhat confusing as both players seemed to be being called Stan by the rest of the team! And I believe it was around the 12th minute.DanielRolinson wrote:Do you know if the goal was Amenku (Stan) ? and it was around the 12th minute wasn't it?

Thanks a lot, just checked back and it was number 10, Trialist. 12th minute sounds good to me!

Really like the look of our no.15 trialist today. He's the same trialist who wore no.10 against Wulfrunians.
Hope we secure his signing. The fact he's played a number of times for us this year tells me he's eager to sign.

A very good summary overall.iwould add that Jay played to his usual high standard Cooper was excellent nothing was getting past the back three (surely Westy is going to sign?) My only concern is in the forward area, have we got a 20 + a season scorer?Wheels wrote:I've just got back from the match today and thought I would provide a brief summary as I'm aware a few people maybe away on holiday.

To summarise, defence and midfield looking very strong, up front not so sure. Oh a mention must go to, me, an ever improving Danny Bragoli, winning balls and laying off superbly
