Re: Green and Tonks
Green will be a massive loss. Fantastic at this level and could go higher easily.
On the other hand, I am glad Tonks has gone. Nowhere near fit enough, not good enough and we were over reliant on his throws. He is a couple of levels above where he should be. I think him going will be a massive blessing in disguise. Most of the good results came before Christmas when he was on the bench. It was no surprise to me things went down hill once he was reintroduced to the starting line up

Disagree with the fitness comment and I think that's very harsh on a player who gave his all for us.Yeltz27 wrote:Green will be a massive loss. Fantastic at this level and could go higher easily.

When I made myself so unpopular in September, it was him I was aiming most of my frustration at

Re: Green and Tonks
I agree with everything except the fitness bit, sure he could run around a bit, but pass, shoot nah. I think he'll regret his decision. Disappointed with Kris. He could do better than that lot. I honestly thought that Curtis and him self would be moving up a division. Like Andy has said, I feel for JHYeltz27 wrote:Green will be a massive loss. Great that from the later announcement that at least 5players (and hopefully more.) have shown some loyalty - unlike the 2 in this thread. Disappointing and sad for both players as I thought that They were more genuine than that - but many of us still fall for the 'kiss the shirt nonsense. Maybe Tonks will now start his run up for his throw ins from the cricket pavilion - should be fun?!

I hope they do.yeltz85 wrote:Tonks has asked me to put this on here...
One thing Tonks always did was run through brick walls for this club. He should be remembered for that. I'm sure he would be the first to admit he wasn't our best player technically but what he lacked in that department he more than made up for in effort and running. Fitness was never an issue.
In terms of the exit to Stourbr*dge, having slept on it and calmed down a bit...I'm still disappointed but I'm sure there are valid and good reasons why they have left for our rivals.
I would like to make clear I appreciate Tonks and Green's effort and commitment over the last two seasons. They were a pleasure to watch and speak to post games. Two great lads and I wish them luck.
I still feel Green could play a level or even two higher but if he's happy so be it! I believe there is more to this than just money, I have nothing to base that opinion on other than I always got the impression that the likes of Tonks and Green played for the love of the game and weren't motivated by money. I guess time will tell!

Everyone is replaceable and we, as a club, move on. I'm certain John Hill will bring in players who will improve us and move us forward.

Re: Green and Tonks
Look, like it or not, the fitness fact is actually blindingly obvious.
The general attitude is he has run through brick walls for us. He might do on match day, but it doesn't take an expert to look at him and notice he doesn't spend hours working on his fitness in between. And if you are that kind of player, who isn't technically brilliant, you'd have thought your fitness would be absolutely paramount. James Milner being the prime example. So for me, a great attitude would be somebody who I could see has worked hard physically during the week so they can last more than 55 minutes during a game without being spent. The argument they have to work doesn't wash with me as I can manage to run 60-70 miles a week, and have to travel and work etc. And I'm not having people pay to watch me on game day. It comes down to attitude, which has now been clearly shown up by his move to Stourbr*dge. Many on here have said about a lack of speed. Sprint reps to work on it for example?
I understand that many people on here aren't willing to criticise as they know and like Tonsky. But that doesn't mean what I am saying is wrong, as unpopular as that may be. The move to Stourbr*dge is letting a lot of people down, especially John Hill who gave him the chance. I'm sorry Tom, I won't be taking up your offer of a phone call

Maybe he wants to defend himself against such ridiculous comments.
Go on, grow a pair.
