I think it's quite an important issue, almost as important as the pitch, regarding the fact we've received sponsorship money for maintenance and this has simply not been done. It shouldn't be skirted around.

What worries me the most is firstly, where has the money gone? and secondly, what impression is this sending out to future sponsors? Would you give money to a cause when you know there's a chance that you won't get what you're ultimately paying for? I wouldn't.

What do said sponsors make of the current state of the toilet? Do they know the money they have given us has not been used for its purpose? Will they end any sponsorship deals due to this issue?

Would be good to hear from someone on this, if I'm wrong in thinking that we've received money for something that has yet to be done, then I apologise in advance. But until someone tells me otherwise, I have to assume this is the case.

It doesn't look good.

No respite for the (grass?) or groundsman for the next 5 years!

I don't really see an issue with Causeway using the pitch, the issue is clearly the amount of times it is used by the Albion ladies, the College and our team training on it. In one week the pitch could be used Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for games and training. It isn't possible to do anything with a pitch that is used that frequently unless you have a full time team of groundstaff and a huge pot of money.

The college do only have about 8 games a season which isn't going to cause much damage but agree with the principle. If it was up to me I would just have htfc and causeway and get rid of the others.

I also agree about training but I'm led to believe the management/team work on set peices on a Thursday and prefer to do this on the pitch.

Also, surely the money we make from causeways rent will cover any costs for the pitch to be done by professionals or by us lot with professional guidance??

Again, no disrespect to ant who does a brilliant job!!

Being of a cynical nature and old with it, do I suspect that any work on the pitch will not begin until the amount of funds from " May Madness" is known?
I was led to believe that work would commence very soon after the last match scheduled at The Grove was played.

The pitch has been done over the last 2 weeks only a few procedures to be done which have been delayed as machines late back from hire due to dry weather and work could not be done.
The funds from May madness won't be used on the pitch as it's already been paid for in April prior to any decision on season tickets.

Thank you for that.
My cynicism was obviously unfounded.

Those who went to awards night would have noticed sand and green grass as the pitch has been receiving treatment. I would add thou that unlike some of the other teams in our league we have to rely in nature for watering of the pitch. Curzon and Wotton had sprinkler systems.

It was looking good on Saturday for only two weeks since the season finished.

Nice to hear. Just curious though as to what aeration or pan breaking has been done (industrial or not) as parts desperately seemed to need it. Not knocking honestly, just curious.
