Officials could have been said to be a little dodgy! Aside from that we just lost 4-1 very end of season sort of game. Nonetheless lovely weather and nice ground a fair amount of fancy dress and plenty of balloons!

This for me was not a 1-4 game. Some uncharacteristic loose defending combined with a lack of cutting edge up front contributed to the first spanking we've had in the league this season. On the plus side Fordey was excellent again (nobody told him it was an end of season game) there was some good passages of play at times in the middle. Messi showed promise again. I think we desperately need more attacking options.
Great support again, surely a 50-50 split. If only we could all congregate together. Probably the best away ground I've visited this season, undeserved for such poor home support for a team that's certainly going to be in the playoffs.
Best fancy dress award has to go to Rob. Great effort mate

Well done to Curzon Ashton on reaching the play offs. A promoted team showing what is possible.

Very disappointing result again

Normal service for updates will start again next season- missed a few games recently due to a serious family illness. Apologies- was going yesterday until 11.30am

Inevitably they wanted it more. They have pushed on well. At the start of the season we'd have taken mid table. However I feel that it has been disappointing since the celebration of reaching 50 points with only the one win in the derby.
Let's hope we can sign off in style against Grantham.

A cracking day out in the sunshine to finish off the away days this season.

Curzon are a good side no doubt and deserved their victory. I thought at the time their penalty was soft and having seen the youtube footage of it it still seems soft. With the lack of numbers we had yesterday I felt for us to get anything out of the game we probably needed to score first and 'hang on', once we went behind and had to chase the game I didn't think we'd get back into it. We did though with a neat strike from Meese.

Curzon needed to win, and it showed we really just need the season to finish. I agree that 4-1 flattered them but the strength of any team is what you have on the bench but the injuries and suspension certainly haven't helped. As ever, the lads gave it their all, maybe Heard or Ben might be back for next week to give us a little more in the way of options.

Comments how newly promoted teams can get to the playoffs is a good one, maybe we can have a council owned stadium that we don't have to maintain and 2,000 FC United fans come drinking in our bar every week to generate some income for us... or we could also be Belper Town - another promoted team.

Ok, I take your point about Curzon. But if you apply the same rules we should be doing better than Belper as our crowd average is nearly double theirs.

Only Stamford have scored fewer in the league than Halesowen this season. It all comes back to the fact many think it's been a great season. It's been ok, but since the 50 pts it's been very poor. 10 points from 15 games! And for me, just beating Stourbr*dge doesnt hide that. Curzon have had a great season

We have done better than Belper, they've got relegated conceding 96 goals along the way - twice as many as us!

If you want to use the goals issue too, let's look at the goal difference, we also have a better goal difference than every team below us in the league as well as Barwell. The better the team generally, the better the goal difference. I agree, the season could have been better, I'm sure John Hill would acknowledge that, but it's also been a season where we've progressed really well and have built firm foundations for progress next season.

Good job we had a good run over the winter months as those end of season stats show how hard it can be to keep it going over 46 games.
