FA Trophy 2QR Draw

Post by YeltzDoc » 03 Nov 2014, 13:01

The winner of Tuesday's replay will have a long trip to Blyth in the next round.

From the same page - "Clubs may mutually agree to extra time and penalties to determine the winner of a first match without having a replay."

How odd.

The referee at the Curzon game played 15 minutes. Both teams agreed I believe to play extra time but Ive heard it wasn't agreed by the FA so they couldn't play on... Not sure how true that is.

Northwood beat Guernsey 5-3 on penalties, after extra time last Ssturday.

What an utterly crap draw that is. £2,700 to the winners of tomorrow's nights replay at Matlock to then have to fork out probably half of that to travel to Blyth. Great!
Let's hope we get through to have that nightmare travel scenario though!

Presumably we'd say no to ET and Pens, if Blyth wanted it (and assuming we navigate the replay too). Call me a harsh, heartless soul, but you'd rather take the draw and then get them travelling down to ours on a Tuesday, with our fans. Plus you'd get the additional gate money too?

The more I think about it, the more I'm struggling to think of a scenario where both teams would decide the tie there and then.
