2 games over Christmas

Post by HalesowenHarry » 25 Oct 2014, 11:09

Judging by several rumours circulating on social media it looks like we'll have a match on Sunday 28th December 2014, two days after Stourbr*dge away. The northern premier league will inform shortly apparently, if I see anything I'll post it on here.

Thank God we don't have to play on the 27th.

Boxing Day is football day.

Had a feeling that the league would do this, the original Christmas fixtures looked thin. Means I'll miss three games, Stour, Barwell and whatever they give us due to being in France that week.

One of the best bits of being a non-league team supporter is it allows Sundays to be 'family time', I'm sure this is the case for the players too and management. I'm hoping that we have a deluge of snow on the night of the 27th so nobody has to play. There is no need for so many games, just get rid of the Doodson Cup that nobody seems to care about..

I agree I have never watched a non league game on a Sunday and do not want to start now.

The pro players moan about how many games they have to play in a short period of time with their large squads and resources.

What are the league trying to do cripple some of our players? Tired players will make mistakes and then there will be injuries from tackles.

I think the league need their head looking at.

Hopefully Stourbr*dge stewards will all be unavailable on 26th.
We will play on Saturday 27th and maybe a night game Monday or Tuesday.

Also think about the people behind the clubs who will be expected to man turnstiles, bars, refreshments, groundsman and the tidier uppers. League you am off yer head.

Mrs AVFCYELTZ isn't happy about this, I might even have to buy her a present at Christmas to get in her good books ;)

I'm guessing a there'll be a good chance that most the games round the 28th won't go ahead due to pitch conditions?

Confirmed game for the 28th Dec - Home to Marine.

So I miss the derby and 2 home games.

Could have been worse Stour are away to Blyth!
