Pope

Post by RaidenYeltz » 19 Sep 2014, 18:26

Just a bit curious...

When I used to be a passive supporter I recall a centre back named Pope (possibly Steve? Not sure) any way, he was always in the goals.

What was his career path since leaving?

What's he up to now a days?

The others include Nick Bushey the GK. And Steff Moore.

That's all I can recall from my early days of Yeltzing.

:)

I believe Steve Pope after he left us went on to be the manager for a short time of Colwyn Bay I've no idea where he is now.
Nick Bussey went on to play for somewhere down south I think can't remember exactly where. I believe he is now living in London and is director of his own company.
Steffan Moore left us to join St Neots and subsequently joined Brackley and then Leamington where the Internet says he still is but I'm pretty sure I read a few months ago that he had left their.
Hope this helps.

Pope lives in the Vatican Rome :-)

Stefan was Leamington Till Brackley came in with extra couple quid last season. Then he returned to Leamington.

Didn't Steve Pope spend some time at Crewe?

I believe he may have done unless it was another Steve Pope. I don't think the guy on the link is the same person as played for us could be wrong though.

Steve Pope is centre, front row on this squad photo (2004?) next to Chairman Nigel Pitt and flanked on the other side by Nick Amos.

Steve is remembered for his FA Cup hat-trick at Brigg:

and a video clip of one of his goals can be downloaded at :

(sorry Yeltz TV guys, technology wasn't quite the same then :( )

For some reason, any mention of Steve Pope always brings to my mind his penalty miss at Northwood:
