Re: Sutton Saturday - FA Cup game
Our sole previous encounter in the FA Cup with The Royals was 12 years ago when a similar status situation applied of Premier Division to the level below.
The Yeltz progressed to the next round thanks to a 2-0 win at Coles Lane. DJ's report :

Blimey, 12 years ago that - I was in attendance at that game, reading the old match report has brought it all back. From what I recall I remember not being overly impressed with Sutton's Coles Lane ground. Obviously that was 12 years ago so not sure if it has improved or not since then.Laurel Lane Lamper wrote:Our sole previous encounter in the FA Cup with The Royals was 12 years ago when a similar status situation applied of Premier Division to the level below.

Ha, ha, ha. Improved? You've got to be joking.dalevillain wrote:Blimey, 12 years ago that - I was in attendance at that game, reading the old match report has brought it all back. Re: Sutton Saturday - FA Cup game
It's tough to call tomorrow, obviously home advantage is in our favour. However they have had a cracking start in the division we won last year and sit second on goal difference. I'd go as far as to say it's a season defining game. I'm not considering losing...... the matches between the two sides are rarely dull.
One thing's for sure, £3,000 is a lot of money for winning this match (1st Qualifying Round).
Oddschecker (compares three bookies) have best odds of 6/4 for a win for either side. A draw is 13/5, so they have done their research well (for a change in non-league gambling!).

Re: Sutton Saturday - FA Cup game
Am I right in thinking that alcohol will not be allowed on the terraces tomorrow seeing as though it's an FA Competition and is banned under the FA rules and regulations?
“No alcohol is to be consumed in the ground or premises during the period of any match, except as may be governed by the terms of the club licence with regard to its own members, but, not withstanding such, no alcohol is to be taken or consumed outside the licensed club house or any other authorised area during such match period or brought into the ground.”
I seem to recall this was the case last season in the FA Trophy and the blinds had to be drawn on the James Grove Lounge.
Can anyone confirm this?
