Pre season...
I'm not usually all that bothered by pre seasonto tell the truth but I'm actually quite intrigued to see what happens during this pre season campaign. No doubt there'll be a few trialists and new faces playing and maybe some of the long term injured players from last season will come into the squad and challenge. I don't know John Hill's intentions for players but I'm looking forward to seeing how the next few weeks will shape up for the start of the new season. It will also be interesting to see the impact of the two new additions to the coaching staff also.
Hopefully see a few of you later at Romulus...

Will be there! My updating on here will carry on as normal!
I hope there aren't many trialists as it's hard work when I don't know who the players are!

New bloke will do Jonny Bud!
Although i hope the majority will be the same as last season.
Interesting on NPL site to see how some clubs are signing several new players. Leek and Coalville in particular.

Re: Pre season...
Lots of the players got 90 minutes yesterday which I guess is a positive. The 3G surface is not so forgiving for players carrying a knock hence why I guess there was no Hull yesterday as I believe he'd injured his ankle. Forde I believe is still recovering from an operation, but was sat with the team on the bench. No sign of Brendan, Jean-Michelle, Danks or Isedyn yesterday though. I guess at this time of year players do have other commitments.
Robert Thompson-Brown looked lively though, very much in the mould of Mark Danks and took his goal well. Maybe we'll see more of him next week at AFC Wulfrunians.

Re: Pre season...
I think we will get a better idea on grass. You may get the odd sand or dust cloud not the black rubber cloud every time the ball hits the ground at Coles Lane. Also not sure if time or year or their maintenance means more rubber bits added but with the heat smell of it made me feel bad.
Also those having the wedding function later your fresh fruit salad was left on the floor in the corridor for anyone walking past in the corridor to cough and sneeze all over and looked like someone had already been at the trifle. I don't think the caterers had heard of cling film.
Glad we don't have to play there in league this year.

Re: Pre season...
Whilst I dislike seeing football played on 3G surfaces, I play at the Power League and I assume we get the same black cloud all the time and I can tell you don't notice it when playing what so ever.
The surface isn't great on the body and I like to think it was a clever idea by John Hill? to arrange our first friendly on such a surface as it take a lot out of you in comparison to grass.
Out of interest does anyone know if any of the sides in the Premier will be using 3G surfaces?

There aren't any I believe - Nantwich have a 3g training pitch used for community purposes as well.RaidenYeltz wrote:Out of interest does anyone know if any of the sides in the Premier will be using 3G surfaces?
