Why not charge for using the toilet? They'd make a few quid out of us non-adult Seniors! :-[
P.S. In all seriousness, you'd reduce the gate significantly by your 'one price fits all' proposal.

My two-penneth: similar to Carlin as I personally don't mind paying a McKenna for entry (although I'm getting a season ticket any road) but Halesowen Town FC now is on everyones' lips and a lot of people - AVFC & Raiden were excellent examples - are looking at their local clubs instead of the V*lla or WBA, etc

So, the way I see it is that they don't mind paying a tenner but when they check what league (and I still get moron responses like "Evo-what?!") and aren't as clued up as Rob or Josh, it might actually put them off.

Think Carlin's idea of a £1 increase over two seasons is spot on, but the club need some clarity in projecting this if it were to occur.

I'm really torn on this. Going from £8 to £10 is a 20% increase, and with today's economic climate that is a pretty substantial rise. It may well put off a few floating supporters who may have to be careful with their personal finances.
Like Swipey mentioned, I'll be purchasing a season ticket so it will make little difference to me but if I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to purchase a season ticket it still wouldn't put me off paying £10. For most home matches I'll have a go on the golden goal, have four or five pints before, during and after the match as well as probably getting some grub. If I had to pay £10 to get in I'd still pay it, but probably spend less on food or beer.

I think whatever the club chose to do, they'll be wrong. If they put the price up to £10 people will moan, if they put it up to £9 and we can't compete with our neighbours financially the club will be criticised. We've been fortunate that Mike Burke has helped significantly with finances this season and the JGLounge has also helped to generate money. Money generated from Chas' draw has helped with things like the floodlights and of course the Yeltz Trust have also thrown money into the club previously as well.

Ultimately though, it is down to us as fans and supporters to support our local football team as much as we can. We all put our hard earned money into the club however we can and as much as we can already but we all have bills and families to consider. With the increased travelling and costs of travelling, as well as the need to increase the player budgets for next season it is inevitable that prices will have to go up. I know how hard the club are working to try and increase the commercial activity within the club but if each fan reading this could get a match ball sponsor or advertising board then maybe the club take a gamble of only a £1 increase.

Remember though, we are playing catch up, John Hill spoke on a couple of occasions last season about how a large number of his players were already making the 'step up', these lads might need a more experienced player in the squad and they of course will not be coming cheaply. We have to give John Hill the best possible opportunity to work his magic this coming season, we know what we will get from his team, so personally I'd be happy to pay the extra money. I hope others do too.

Of course, the cheapest way to watch the The Yeltz will be to get a season ticket anyway ;-)

Bumping this as you can buy or renew as of tonight. Doing the maths its a tenner in if you pay as you go which is comparable to Stour and Redditch.

I fully expected a rise and although quite substantial, I was always going to renew. The extra income allows us to compete at the new level and we've gone a fair while at £8.

There will be some who aren't chuffed with the increase but its necessary andat least we know where its going, unlike many PL clubs.

Only question to Chris and Selfie is whether they plan to do half tickets again (any 11 or 12 of 23) as I think this would have a good take up for those unable to stretch to a full ST?

I've seen a few having a little moan on twitter. Yes, it is a fair increase but in my opinion we have to give John Hill the best possible opportunity to do his magic again. The guy performed a miracle last year. Having seen the work rate those players put in week after week after week. Whatever the outcome might be next season we know with John Hill as manager we'll get value for money in the sense that we can't ever question the commitment. At the forum he did he talked quite openly about the work ethic at the club. This extra money from season tickets might just give him the extra finance to bring in that little bit more flair to the squad.
That said, I appreciate that people's finances are tight. Maybe buy your season ticket and have a pint less than normal over the weekend.

I won't be able to get the money in time for the early bird, but still find the normal price very competitive.

People will always moan when something goes up. (In price that is!).

A substantial price increase is an own goal, I remember when it went from £7 to £8, things were fairly rosy at the time but crowds dropped, it is always better to keep the price down and get more to pay it, the more people in the ground the higher the sales of food, drink, programes, merch, raffle tickets etc. I would think a £1 increase is the most we could get away with, a £2 increase will put a LOT of people off especially when clubs like Walsall have their £10 promotions. :o

You can save by going before 2 p.m. get £1 voucher off Bar\Café club shop.

I did worry about what sort of club we were turning into as the note said £1 voucher of in car, what sort of thing could that be! :o

I think £10 is where it should be. Been £8 for years. Other hobbies and costs keep going up Beer, Takeaway food, Railway travel etc.

What entertainment can you get for 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon (longer if you arrive earlier and enjoy the bar) on ya doorstep, easy parking for a £10?

If all our competition are charging a tenner, and this puts a lot of people off coming to The Grove, then we will know that the public of Halesowen want a team at a lower level.
In fact if we charge £9, or as some say, leave it as it is at £8, then that is exactly what we will get, and very quickly.
Historically the Halesowen public have always demanded higher league footie, but never wanted to pay for it.
God help us if we ever get to the Conference :o :o :o

It is easy for me I suppose when I've been paying in excess of £450 for a season ticket in B6. Those that have been going for years probably notice the price hike more.

I like the £1 off voucher too, a nice gesture to those that are spending money in the ground. I assume this will also be available on evening games too?

I can see the fans worries to be honest, and can fully understand the clubs stance. I'd hate to think people will put off coming through the turnstyles though for the sake of £2. I remember when Villa put their season ticket price up by £50 I just didn't by a programme any longer.
