I like the 'Sponsor a seat' idea.... The weather of the past x years has really taken it's toll on the seats. In front of the commentary box looks like there's been a surge of Millwall fans take over the ground! I think it's 4 seats that the backs of the seats have been snapped. The seats are very brittle and fragile and with the increasing attendances, it's only going to get worse.
But once again, this comes back to money. Does anybody know how much it would cost to have all of the seats replaced? If you do, I think I'd rather not know!

Re: Goalmouths
Could not the area be levelled and new turf put down why does it have to be seed?
Or is it a case we are worried about the Bobble
Again common sense by both teams pre-match and half time.
Lets face it our subs prefer to hit the fans behind the goal walking with hot drinks and deface the refurbished (at huge expense) shed than actually get it between the sticks.

Re: Goalmouths
Levelling the goal mouth is might not the sole answer because the large majority of pitch work during the summer is spreading a huge amount of topside, around 30 tonnes per year along the centre third of the pitch (lengthways) and seeding this area. (plus the other heavily worn areas, especially those trodden down mainly by linesmen, substitutes etc)
Over time this has had the effect of making the pitch higher along the space directly between the two goals than on the wings. This means that simply re-laying the goal mouth would not be sufficient and the centre of the re-laid area needs to be set at the right level to knit into the remainder of the pitch. To say nothing of the fact that seeding is probably cheaper than relaying
But I don't know much, I just wheel stuff around and dig when asked to

Not that simple with returfing i'm afraid. The new turf would still need time for the roots to knit it all together. Its more likely to just move round and then die with football being played on it. Would only be useful after the season has finished and then you might as well seed as it's much cheaper.JohnC wrote:Could not the area be levelled and new turf put down why does it have to be seed?
