These are my thoughts :- 8 games to go, 24 points to play for. Yes indeed everyone the final run in, Coalville are favourites and that's fine, we need to be ready for any slip ups, I think they will slip up at least once. There will be twists and turns till the end.

Whatever happens we have had a fantastic season, we have created a great team, great spirit, playing some decent football, I don't think we could wish for a more decent group of players and management who have given everything. It's exciting and great to be in the mix, I think more or less everyone on here would have ripped limbs to be in this situation at the start of the season.

In my opinion what we need to do it transmit as many positives on the pitch from the terraces/seats as we can and also on the forum, we need these players to know we believe in them and that they can win this league, we need to pick them up if they make a mistake or lack confidence. We need to sing our hearts out not just when they need us to but to keep them on a high if they are. These players have done well for us and I am sure I am speaking for most when I say they have made us proud, proud to be a yeltzman or woman. I have enjoyed this season so much, it does give me so much joy and comfort knowing that when I come to support the lads they give everything.

Come on boys 1 final push, 8 wembley finals, 24 points, we can do this, you are good enough and we are right behind you. All the best lads !

Do any other teams in the top 6 or 7 still need to play each other ?

We'll win the league on the last day of the season, whilst I'll be at a wedding! Law of the sod!

Very good post from Dazza he's got a point. These players will give it there all as they have nearly every game this season! There's some big games coming up but if the players perform like they have done then we can win this league. Also the players need our vocal encouragement more than ever so lets not let them down! Yes it's tough will Coalville in the mix but they fluffed if it up last season, and with 2 games behind us, a fixture pile up maybe on the cards. That could prove to be very important in this season. As I and others on this forum have said in the past, I'd rather have the points on the board than the games in hand!

Raiden is also right, going into the play-offs doesn't mean we're damned to a 3rd season in this league, its another shot at promotion. And if we finish second, the odds point in our favor!

I would rather be in our position than Coalville's.

Give me points on the board over games in hand any day.

I got tired of waiting for the NPL site to update the table, so I decided to work out the top for myself.

I think it's now:

Code: Select all

            P Pts
HALESOWEN 32 67
-----------------
Coalville 30 64
Leek 29 60
Belper 32 60
Mickleover 31 57
-----------------
Newcastle 33 55
Sutton C 32 52
Scarboro 31 50
