Todays attendance

Post by andy » 01 Mar 2014, 19:14

Only FC United of Manchester got a higher attendance in the whole of the Northern Premier League than us today (allbeit 1400 more ::) ). Wouldn't it be great if we could maintain 500+ crowds. Unfortunately no clubs will bring what Leek did today, but many of our casual spectators today will surely return to keep the numbers up.

Leek didn't bring that many fans did they? 30? 40? Maybe 50 at a push?

It was superb, there was a mini bus full of Coalville supporters there too. It helped enormously that Smethwick and Villa didn't play but why shouldn't we get that crowd every week? There are enough people in Halesowen to get 1,000 people there. Maybe the club could offer some kind of initiative for next week, maybe dishing out some free tickets for some nearby primary school kids, with adults paying say £5 who acompany them?

Hopefully we can take 100 or so to Coalville on Tuesday too!

To be fair, I reckon at least 80 from Leek.

Their fans coach only looked like a 30 seater not the ususal 52 seater.

Their players came on a minibus.

If one of their fans was escorted out of the shed for smoking that was unfair. I have said before (assuming it was cigarettes) I have seen our fans still smoking in the shed.

He wasn't 'escorted' out of the shed!

The steward told him he wasn't really supposed to smoke under there and he went 'Yeh, okay mate' and walked out the shed! Their group of lads in The Shed were a good laugh!!
