Open Forum - Feedback Part 3
Ben injury update...
BH - It's been a frustrating time, four weeks ago he saw the specialist to see how his eye injury was progressing. They can't physically see any damage to the eye but he still has blurred vision. They wanted to allow more time for blood to drain away from his eye, as there is still haemoraging behind the eye. He is not due to see the glaucoma specialist at the earliest the first week in January. Ben wasn't too pleased about this as it means he is sat around waiting for the OK. Ben has spoken to his GP about the possibility of seeing a Private Specialist to see if that can move things forward quicker. The reason Ben can't play is due to the fact if he has another impact to the eye it could cause serious problems.
Colin spoke saying that the club had met before the forum to discuss paying for a private specialist and Ben would speak to his medical people in the next couple of days to try and move things forward. Ben was appreciative of the club for offering this opportunity.
Colin went on to mention finances again, stating how the club could do with every penny to try and help move forwards. How JH is doing a great job with a small budget. If there is anyone inside of the room or outside of the room who can help further then please come forward. It really could be the difference between winning promotion or getting into the play offs. If more money could be found over the next few months then it will help John. Colin believes that teams below us, come January will strengthen, and it will be incredibly hard for us as teams improve. Colin mentioned for all the great work going on from the people trying to generate money behind the scenes, he can't say we can do the same as other clubs come January. Every penny is spoken for. If you know anybody who can help then please come forward. Last year we had some money donated and it helped tremendously. I think you all know now that it would be spent wisely, spent properly. Colin said he wasn't sure the money was there to move us forward but JH said he was still 'looking for gems' - cheap gems. There are currently EIGHT players who've never played at this standard.
It was mentioned that JH has lost players to other clubs due to money not being available but that's where we're at.
Colin mentioned that some of our current lads could go elsewhere for more money but HTFC is a good place to be and they're giving their all for the club, with good people running the club.
Part 4 tomorrow...

Great stuff AV. All this typing looks like hard work to a One Finger Wonder like me
Definitly deserves a George......
It certainly seems our club is in good order. Well done to the panel for attending and answering in what appears to be avery forthright manner.
How many fans attended.?

I'm truly honoured! I would say there was about 20-30 people in total. I guess the time of the year didn't help, and probably the fact we're doing so well. I assume more would turn up for a moan if things were going wrong.Westyeltz wrote:Great stuff AV. All this typing looks like hard work to a One Finger Wonder like me![]()
