Just been on. No standing water. Soft but not squishy. No rain from 2pm today, so another 24 hours to drain more. In my opinion shouldn’t be a problem, that said we have always got to account for soft modern day referees

I can conur that, having also been to The Grove, the pitch is in excellent condition.
The forecast is reasonable and, barring rain of biblical proportions, the game will be on.
That's purely my opinion - and that of a little bird that whispered in my ear.

Thanks all - maybe I don't need to re-plan tomorrow afternoon after all.

Because our fantastic owners have, over the last years, invested in improving the pitch home matches are now unlikely to be called off due to prolonged rainfall.
We have a brilliant groundsman in Ant Brettle who prepares playing surfaces that put some others,at a higher level, to shame.
Have faith, and fear not the water gods!
