Reading tbe comments on Facebook, I think a few folks agree with you. Ultimately with shite performances we have turned in throughout a lot of this season, the fault has to be somewhere. I dont even think this is an over-reaction. Its been coming. Im not despondent. Im bloody angry.

Got exactly what we deserved today...nothing.
I think you have to question the management today and the failure to see the problem and swap things around.
Agree we carried a couple today.

Another team who have given us a going over and hope we dont get in play offs
Not sure who we'd want in the play offs. It's the same old, same old, can't beat anybody around us. As has already been said that was like most of our away performances this season. I honestly don't know how we are second, it just shows the standard of this league. Nowhere near good enough. Without Platty and Gregg's goals we would be mid table at best. Very disappointing.

The only consolation for me that some others won't have is that I've never thought we were good enough. Would love to have been proved wrong though. :-\

Could see this performance coming, boldmere were more up for it than us they just worked much harder than us all over the pitch ,pressured us and gave us no time yet when they were on the ball we just stand off and give them time
It seemed as though they had more players than us at times and allthough going 2 nil up they looked more dangerous and created the better chances.
Was no surprise we lost that game the way we did ,comfortable for boldmere apart from a couple of long range efforts which their keeper saved well we never looked like scoring and created nothing
Why do we look so slow and ponderous ? Compared to other sides who seem to run allday and look more sharper and aggressive more up for it,are we fit enough ?changes were needed at half time in my opinion we were losing the midfield battle .we looked the away halesowen today just couldnt stamp our authority on the game.badly lacking pace in forward and wide areas
Will they regret acting as though promotion was won after beating spalding
Ahh well onto the playoffs again
So gutted after that ,great crowd that deserved better

I dont think anyone thinks we've been anywhere near consistent enough. It just feels like the same mistakes all over again. And performances that we gave the year before. No difference today to Chasetown at home. Out fought and out thought.
You cant even blame pressure on the players as its a wholly different squad.

One of our better going forward players was Donnelly and we go and move him to left back!!! from then on we looked lost.

Can accept defeat no problem. Frustration is the performance and we know we are capable of much much better.
Never seen us panic as much as today and just boot it anywhere, whereas they seemed to have so much time on the ball.
I did actually count at one stage they did have 11 players.

Northern Premier League Midlands – Saturday, 11th March 2023

Halesowen Town 2 Boldmere St. Michaels 3

Play-off chasing Boldmere staged a dramatic fightback to complete the double over Halesowen and inflict their first home defeat of the season, writes DJ.

Joint-manager Martin Sockett’s reaction summed up the Halesowen mood. “I’m gutted, it’s the first home defeat of the season after being 2-0 up and in the driving seat. It’s massively disappointing, we were lack-lustre and sloppy at times although Boldmere worked very hard for it. But there are still 21 points to play for and we’ll be fighting for all of them.”

Boldmere’s Kieren Westwood put a low dangerous 3rd minute ball along the home goal and Curvin Sanderson-Ellis fired a loose 5th minute ball wide. As Halesowen featured, a 6th minute corner from Ash Sammons was headed over his own bar by Aris Christophorou.

The Yeltz took a 10th minute lead when Kieren Donnelly made a brilliant run into the area to beat several defenders before he was finally pulled down by Pedro Lima, allowing Richard GREGORY to smash home the resulting penalty down the centre of goal.

But the Mikes responded and were already showing their ability to quickly get players forward to cause Halesowen plenty of problems at the back. James Bowen curled a 12th minute free-kick over the bar and Nat Kelly came to the rescue in the 19th minute after Kieren Westwood crossed to Jack Burgess in front of goal. For Halesowen, Simeon Cobourne fired past goal from a wide angle.

The Yeltz doubled their lead after 21 minutes following hard graft from Donnelly and Cobourne with the ball finally crossed from the right by Josh Ezewele for the impressive DONNELLY to flick the ball home over goalkeeper Kieran Harrison. Donnelly made another brilliant run into the Boldmere area to be just thwarted after 24 minutes.

In end-to-end action home captain Rob Evans cleared off the line in the 27th minute after a throw-in was headed on and Nathan Hayward played a good 33rd minute forward ball only for visiting goalkeeper Harrison to rush out smartly to gather ahead of Ezewele.

The Mikes deservedly pulled a goal back in the 35th minute when the ball was threaded through to put Michael TAIT-MORAN in the clear to just beat goalkeeper Dan Platt. With the visitors continuing to press and threaten, Platt made a good 42nd minute blocking save and Sanderson-Ellis flashed a shot wide just before the interval.

Halesowen made a tactical change but Boldmere still drew level after an hour when Yeltz substitute Kieran Morris was penalised for his challenge on Andre Brown just seconds after arriving on the pitch and SANDERSON-ELLIS slotted home from the penalty spot. Platt then collected a 68th minute overhead kick from Tait-Moran.

The comeback was completed by Boldmere’s third goal in the 70th minute when a deep cross from former Yeltz full-back Bowen found TAIT-MORAN free to slide the ball home at the back post. From then, Boldmere defended competently and deeply to protect their vital lead although goalkeeper Harrison beat away a great 86th minute drive from Sammons.

Cold, wet and we lost fair and square. Boldmere deserved to win and were the better side for the entire game. Normally, blowing a 2-0 lead would be a shock but it felt inevitable as soon as they got their first.
I'm no tactical genius but I've seen little to suggest the managers can adapt during a game. The change of shape in the second half was a disaster and hoofing the ball to a centre forward who is about a foot smaller than the bloke marking him is madness. We can play, so why don't we?

I don't think Boldmere really played the ball around too much. Most often they went long from the keeper and the defenders. They were good at picking up the second ball in our half and had a couple of tidy players in midfield. They must have a good set up given their lack of support.

We had a decent start and finally forced their keeper into some saves near the end, but in between we looked ponderous and slow and I don't know why we haven't added any real pace all season. I think we have looked worse generally since Smith left.

Unless we fire on all cylinders in the play offs, it will be another season of local derbies with those well-supported teams like Sutton, and Sporting Khalsa and Boldmere (though one of those could well go up instead), and we can also look forward to playing Walsall Wood. >:(
