Home. Still stunned. This side amaze me and then some. Did I think hand on heart we had a chance? No. Did I think we could get well rolled over? Yes. I will not doubt them again. We never gave them a creditable shot on target, we worried them when we came forward, we defended as a team like a pro side, in honesty we left them clueless. I'm not going to pick out individuals because the entire team were magnificent. I'll leave it to others to fill in the minutiae, I am just too lost for words.

This sums it up!

The other 7:

Notts County
Barnet
Fylde
Harrogate Town
Concord Rangers (on Canvey Island)
Royston Town
Aveley

Given what has gone on, I guess anything is possible.

Notts County is by far and away the most prestigious and the club with most support. The others don't get big crowds. Harrogate would be the toughest opponent on paper, although in some ways Aveley could be as tough, meeting a team on a roll like ourselves.

Well what an incredible day. I lost some love for this club last season, that coupled with other stuff taking priority meant I have made much less visits to games. A few years ago I hated missing a game, then I just grew out of not going.

Apart from the season which we got promoted it’s been pretty depressing for the last 10 years or so.

This season I’ve only been to 7-8 games, each one I’ve felt the warmth, the love more and more each time. The manager, the players, the staff, the fans and everything off the pitch is just a breath of fresh air. Everything is positive and it really is nice to see and hear. I am sure there are fans like myself who used to go to lots and lots of games then stayed away because of too many bad times and find themselves coming back because of all the positivity.

As for today it was just incredible, what a fantastic gesture from the club with the coaches at such a brilliant and affordable price.
As for on the pitch to go to a side 3 divisions higher in their own back yard and to put in such a professional and solid performance was just outstanding. I want to thank the club, the gaffer, the players and the fans who I also thought were amazing today, a totally brilliant and memorable day.

I've awoke this morning, and I am quite simply still buzzing. What a day. What a performance. What a feeling.

I know we've all said it, numerous times this season, but the transformation of this club, since the Summer has been incredible. Even without the cup heroics, we now have a TEAM that we can all be proud of. We have players who work as a TEAM, and that fights for the fans. They just never give up, they never know when they're beaten. The fans love the players, and I feel like the players love the fans, and love playing for their manager and the Yeltz. It really is fantastic to see the camaraderie between all at the club, from fans, players, coaching staff and the club officials. We are in a fantastic position as a club (Thank you, again, to Colin, Karen and Keith), and I couldn't be more proud. Yesterday certainly made the previous five years and more of suffering apathy and disappointment worth while. This is why we follow football, isn't it!

I thought we started a little shaky - to be expected. But after ten minutes, or so, we slowly started to grow into the match, and from then on in, wow. Just wow.

To a man we were phenomenal, I think most, if not all, would agree that's the best Yeltz performance we have seen. It was certainly the best performance I have witnessed. There was a clear game plan, every single player knew their role. Defensively, we held our shape all game long. It was organised and professional. If you were to draw up the perfect away performance, it would look exactly like what we witnessed yesterday. Halifax just never looked like scoring, we limited them to next to nothing all game, other than long range attempts, and by the end of the game they just looked void of any idea as to how to break us down. I genuinely thought we were the better team, we played better football and created better chances. Our excellent team had more desire, more fight and just wanted it far more than Halifax. It really was an outstanding display.

Andy, I understand the point you're making, about not singling any players out for specific praise, but I feel the need to single out McCone and Rob Evans, who were absolutely colossal at the back. They simply won every single header that they contested, they organised our back line throughout and offered excellent composure when they had the ball. Of course, the whole team were excellent, each player deserves the upmost praise, but those two were something else, they really were.

Whilst I've mentioned McCone, if the season was to end today (I never want this season to end!), he would get my vote for player of the season. I know the likes of Montel will grab headlines for the goals he gets, but Macca has been an absolute rock all season, and he has seldom looked out of place in our matches against higher league opponents.

I am so happy right now. Thank you Paul Smith (hopefully you'll see this post!) - I know you will deflect any credit away, but you are deserving of every single compliment you get from us fans. You have no idea what yesterday meant to myself, and many others. The biggest thing you have done, for me personally, is bring an identity and a personality to the team. That, in a relatively short amount of time, is some achievement. You have brought positivity back to the club, and back to the team. You can sense that the players believe they can beat any team they face, that in itself is a joy to witness.

I genuinely believe this team can achieve anything. I'm daring to dream. Up the f-ing Yeltz!

If Carlsberg did forum posts!
Just what I wanted to say. One little thing I'd add, I think Josh Hawker had his best game yet in a yeltz shirt.
Royston at home next please

Well what a day yesterday was. Still in shock as to what happened. To go to a side 3 leagues higher and win is incredible in itself but to go there and be the better team and deserve to win is just sensational. There are just no words really that can do that performance justice. Let’s be honest, NO-ONE saw that coming.

Since the Gateshead game in my mind I’ve been thinking, this has been a great run but this is as far as we can go yet this team just keep on proving me wrong time and time again; getting past Bradford PA, Maidenhead and now Halifax. After yesterday’s performance, I have finally changed my opinion and I genuinely believe this team is good enough to go all the way to Wembley.

I’m not old enough to remember the trips to Wembley in the 80’s or even the FA Cup 1st round games in the late eighties/early 90’s. So for me, I have to say that yesterday was THE BEST performance/result I have ever known in around 18 years of following Halesowen.

Ecstatic is purely an understatement! What a great time to be a Yeltzman!

ADY, I was going to single out the very two players you mentioned but in a day like yesterday thought it would be unfair. EVERY PLAYER was magnificent!
