At least we didn't loose today.... nice football would be a bonus ,but it is all about the result !!! And we didn't win ... 3 points is a must now every game... that's what the game plan has to be...unfortunately to do that you have to score goals and again today we drew a blank!!! It is frighteningly obvious that one or possibly two strikers and a winger are desperately wanted !! Hopefully the new management team, with their contacts, can address this, as if they don't relegation is a cert..
Good battling performances from Mendes and Lawton, man of the match for me, both showing passion and desire, and vocal encouragement...next couple of games are must wins... good support from a good crowd today... good luck to lee and Asa ,the atmosphere and feel good factor has changed overnight... hopefully that will transcend into firstly some wins and secondly some decent football being played...

Ironically Lee Hughes said in an article in Express and Star that he will be speaking to Darren Moore for advice, and now Moore has been sacked.

get GODDARD back , that would be a start.
Seconded.
Thirded. If that's even a word. ;D
Quadrupled. We desperately need some creativity in the midfield as well as players in other positions. Although today's game was a tough watch there did, to me, look like there was a bit more organisation tactically. But you can only work with the tools you're given which is a sad reflection on the previous regime.

I think every Yeltz fan would like to see this. And personally would go all out to bring him back. We are desperately in need of a player like Goddard along with a couple of forward additions, at least to give us a fighting chance if we have any.

I couldnt make it today cos of work but realistically this is the same team that hasnt created any real chances in god knows how long. That was never going to change and I didnt expect it to. The appointment is a padding out til the end of the season where we look again. If Hughes can get a couple of strikers in we may have a slim chance but I think its too late personally.

That is a disgraceful decision, by the way.

Yes.....but theres a but. Theyre starting to slip away from the top two, theres a bit of a dip in form and the ultimate goal has to be promotion. Although for my money, you can shove the Premier league. Anyhoo back to the Yeltz.

Halesowen Town 0 Hitchin Town 0

New player-manager duo Lee Hughes and Asa Charlton found a hitch in their search for a dream start and had to settle for a battling stalemate as Halesowen remain deep in relegation trouble.

Prior to the kick-off a one-minute silence was held in remembrance of Alan Ward. Although the Yeltz fought for an elusive victory, it was in-form Hitchin who came closest to breaking the deadlock by striking the inside of the woodwork twice in a game played out in blustery conditions.

In early play, home goalkeeper Dan Platt saved a low 9th minute shot from Noah Chesmain. The best first half chance for the Yeltz arrived after 14 minutes when Callum Coyle collected Samir Nabi’s cross and struck a low shot just past the post. Andre Wright then set Jack Till free to earn an 18th minute corner, but from then on the Canaries had the better of the first period.

Isaac Galliford’s 23rd minute free-kick was hacked clear and Chesmain’s terrific 25 yard shot rebounded down and out off the underside of the crossbar a minute later. Home goalkeeper Dan Platt then palmed away Scott Belgrove’s 25th minute shot and did well to parry away at his post in the 29th minute after Galliford played a neat one-two in the home penalty area. In continuing Hitchin pressure, Alfie Cue miscued a loose ball wide in the 32nd minute and Jack Green curled over the bar.

There were few chances in a second half stalemate, played out for long spells in midfield. A long range 53rd minute shot from Wright was easily collected by visiting goalkeeper Michael Johnson and Danny Bragoli fired a good chance over the Hitchin bar a minute later as the ball was played into the area from the left. Yeltz goalkeeper Platt beat away Ezra Forde’s low shot in the 74th minute and then held onto a 30 yard free-kick from Michael Cain in the 82nd minute.

Halesowen had another let-off when Josh Bickerstaff’s header struck the inside of the post after Galliford delivered a dangerous 84th minute free-kick from the edge of the penalty area.

The Yeltz threatened in the final minutes when Kieran Morris headed into Johnson’s hands after 89 minutes and substitute player-manager Hughes almost snatched a late winner when he glanced his header into Johnson’s grateful arms from Jack Kelly’s cross three minutes into stoppage time.

Halesowen Town: Dan Platt; Sam Griffiths, Jack Kelly, Ivor Lawton, Kieran Morris, Callam Mendez-Jones, Danny Bragoli (c), Samir Nabi (Matt Curley 60), Andre Wright, Callum Coyle (Joe Fitzpatrick 73). Jack Till (Lee Hughes 67). Subs Not Used: Asa Charlton, Enock Ekongo.

Awayday

What team allows Pardew possibly the worst manager ever in the premier to last 20 plus games before they gave Darren a chance who did wel and would have probably have escaped relegation
Sitting fourth and looking a cert for the play offs the decision is farcical
