Poor performance. Stourbr*dge weren’t great at all but almost looked like they had about another four heads to add.

I didn’t think it was that bad to be honest. I think compared to the game Boxing Day where were completely outclassed that day, we at least restored some pride tonight. Yes the better team won but I think we showed a lot more character and fight.

The first half was pretty much one way traffic with Stour dominating and Benbow took his goal well after he was given too much time and space to finish. However but for Platty in goal it could have been so much worse, he once again showed his quality by making some fine stops to keep us in the game.

I thought the second half we were a lot better, battled well but didn’t have that extra spark up front to get the equaliser or really properly test their keeper. But felt there was enough effort there to at least match them and had it been a league game, you could argue maybe we deserved a point for our efforts at least.

Alas, it was not to be. Whilst a win tonight against the enemy would have been nice we clearly have bigger priorities in terms of survival to concentrate on. I feel based on the character shown tonight particularly in the 2nd half we are capable of staying up.

The crowd of 495 was very disappointing, the lowest I have ever known in a Number 9 Derby which again showed how low this game ranks in both teams priorities and didn’t even capture the imagination of the neutrals either as it usually does. Plus with Wolves playing at home and also the Villa reserves playing at the Grove too maybe having some impact.

Having said that, the 40 people or so in the Shed end the second half gave the team a great reception throughout and outsung the home following - we deserve so much better than the position we are in the league based on our support.
