Today was nothing more than papering over the cracks in my opinion. Whitby could be a worse team than us a simply dreadful run there on. 3 points nevertheless but a very poor performance.

225 attendance? Dropped average 150 people per game since start of season.

Keep going like this and there will be less than 150 per game come end of season.
Just like I and others predicted a while back, the attendances will continue to dwindle unless change is made.

Like me, it is clear that many fans are losing patience and interest in the club.

Carry on like this and the club will be playing in front of less than 100 before too long.

Like Andy said earlier, I only hope that when change eventually comes those fans start to come back (hopefully we still have a club at that stage).

I wouldn’t count on many coming back it - that damage could be irreversible.

Halesowen Town 3 Whitby Town 1

On-loan John McAtee struck twice as Halesowen came from behind to notch their first win in eight games.

But it was the Seasiders who took an early 5th minute lead when Kyle FRYATT headed a right-wing cross off the underside of the bar and the same player tapped home the rebound. Daniel McWilliams then curled a 7th minute free-kick just wide.

Little seen from the Yeltz early on, although Enock Ekongo’s 10th minute cross from the right was hacked clear and Ethan Jones put a 17th minute half chance wide. At the other end, Marcus Poscha made a good saving tackle in the home area to deny Matthew Tymon in the 24th minute.

After the slow start, McAtee led Halesowen’s recovery and he went close in the 33rd minute when his 25 yard shot hit the base of goalkeeper Daniel Dixon’s post, only to rebound into safety. But McATEE was soon on target with an equaliser when his 36th minute shot from the edge of the penalty area took a deflection to beat Dixon. Man of the match McAtee went close again four minutes before the interval, but this time Dixon made a good save.

Before half-time, Matthew Barnes-Homer scooped wide from McAtee’s corner and McAtee went close again after the ball fell kindly to him in the Whitby area, but this time Dixon made a good save to push the ball away.

The Yeltz went ahead in the 61st minute when substitute Jack KELLY was set free on the left and his cross-shot found its way into the net after being bundled over the line. Yeltz striker Matthew Barnes-Homer almost added another when he capitalised on a short Whitby back header from Luke Bythway just three minutes later.

A goal-bound shot from Whitby’s Luke Bythway was blocked for an 80th minute corner before Halesowen broke away and McATEE was put clear to make Halesowen’s vital points safe by stroking into the bottom corner with a cool 81st minute finish. McAtee burst through again in the 88th minute but was denied his hat-trick as Dixon made a fine save.

In injury time home goalkeeper Dan Platt saved from Tymon and Whitby substitute Keiron Weledji flashed a header wide but the well beaten visitors were left without a win in twelve outings.
