Apparently, our first shot on goal was in the 93rd minute!

Re: Workington Away
Just got back.
A long day, fortunately the M6 behaved itself.
Not much to write about if I'm honest, we didn't really get going and the heavy pitch seemed much tougher for us to play on than them. Kicking into a strong wind first half also din't help. Maybe it was my perception of the game but more of our lads seemed to be going arse over tit more than their lads, it was almost as if we were forced to wear our black PE pumps. They looked a yard quicker than us all over the pitch and the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game.
I thought Bragoli worked his nuts off in the middle and the young kid Anderson worked tirelessly often up against 2/3 defenders with little reward. When Turner came on up front he didn't like quite so isolated and we did push them back a little more but at 2-0 down we still didn't really trouble their keeper and the first effort I recall on target was at the end of the game.
One to forget, not going to criticise the players, especially as they weren't lacking in effort - and as much as it was a 14 hour door to door trip for us, they're probably still on the coach somewhere near Manchester I should imagine. There's always next week...

Re: Workington Away
People who moan about our pitch should have seen the Workington one today. Up to kickoff and i mean almost as the ref blew his whistle to start the game their groundsman was manually pulling a heavy roller around the pitch.
He and one other with a pitch fork were on all half time too.
However, was the same for both teams and as already said today we were well beaten today by the better side.
Not sure why but as said we seemed to struggle staying on our feet and never troubled the keeper.
The only shot of note being the last kick of the game.
Perhaps not having a game last Saturday and the long journey had a part.
Pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and see you at Whitby next Saturday.
