Re: Buxton Updates
As I said we were better before they went down to 10, but what followed was poor game management and that includes the players. I thought defensively we were vulnerable to pace down the flanks and through the middle. Their keeper was their weakness and we should have done far more to pressurise him.
I know we were pressing for the equaliser when they got the 4th but there was no tracking back for the unmarked player to tap in.
I also agree about Denny today; as the captain as well...

Re: Buxton Updates
Biggest frustration today was that we had about half an hour in the second half when Buxton put two banks of four out and sat back to defend the lead. It was an interesting test- we couldn't play over the top, and so had to try and break them down. And we just couldn't.
The Denny challenge was a bit naughty as it was a blatant attempt to stop the break but was yellow all day. However he did seem pretty peeved off in general and I think frustration was etched in all the players.

Re: Buxton Updates
To whom it may concern.
A truly awful performance!
How is it possible that a side losing 1 nil and then down to 10 men are allowed to score 4 goals?
The referee set a marker when he sent of their No 9 for what was obvious abuse of an official. After Jay Denny commited a cynical "professional" foul the Buxton player raised his hands i.e. grabbed Denny by the throat. There then followed a display by their captain that was shameful. He abused the linesman, the referee and anyone else within earshot. For that he received a yellow card!
Denny, quite rightly got a yellow but the raising of hands to another player and abuse of officials should have warranted greater punishment.
In no way do I use this as an excuse for my opening statement.
Something has to change - and quickly - otherwise this club is doomed to relegation and possibly worse.
For pity's sake can nobody at the helm do something to rectify this intolerable situation, grow some testicles and make a decision - you know that it makes sense.

Re: Buxton Updates
The saddest thing for me is hearing from someone that has been going for 50 years that he probably wont go next week. I'm not talking about someone that goes intermittently or hasn't been going long enough to have the club in his heart, this club has been with him for virtually his whole life. We've seen the same thing happen with Chas (LLL), and when people like that say enough is enough we should be listening and acting upon it. I personally do not know what the answer to the off the field antics is, I do know that many cleverer than me have information that could sink this ship and all who sail her, but as yet are unwilling to go further. The on the field antics I do know the answer to, and so does everybody else that hasn't got another agenda, but the one person that can change things stubbornly won't. I'll ask Steve outright on here, "just HOW BAD has it got to be before you will act?"
There are people here whose blood runs blue and have been through all this shit before. NOBODY has the right to put them through it again. Relegation to the 4th level of non league football again is unthinkable, but the smell of a rotting corpse of a club is even worse.

This is a good question, I hope Steve takes the time to respond. I'll say it again - watching this club being destroyed is soul destroying.andy wrote: I'll ask Steve outright on here, "just HOW BAD has it got to be before you will act?"
Please do something! Please don't burry your head in the sand!

Re: Buxton Updates
Just seen Malcolm Melvin has left today! Thought he was a decent player at times, tricky and skillful on the ball.
Wonder what the reason is for this departure, maybe he doesn't suit the style of football we are playing, after all, he likes the ball played to feet

Re: Buxton Updates
Last win 2 months ago, 1 win in 12 games, 8 defeats out of those 12. I challenge anyone to even try and defend that...
Football is results driven and the mark of a successful manager and club is winning games. We aren't and I cannot see where the next win will come from.
For the good of the club, for god's sake have the gumption to change the manager now, relegation again will kill us.

Re: Buxton Updates
I had my say last Thursday, my thoughts have not, will not change, Lord lutley speaks out, loud and clear. We must see the change at the top. IMO John Hill surely must go, Whitby next Saturday will be a much tougher proposition than Buxton today. Should we loose this game and l can't really see any other result John Hill MUST GO OR RESIGN. Enough really is enough. I am dreading the end of this month when K Anderson leaves us, today Dunkley was an absolute carthorse, where is your energy Tristan, pathetic, George Bowerman is obviously not trusted to perform, or he would start a game. As Raiden has stated it is really painful to watch OUR club, there still a lot of games ahead of us. I ask Steve Lynch to look at what is happening and respond to OUR fan serious concerns...seriously concerned for our chances to avoid the drop, confidence is draining away with every game. Can anyone really see where our next win is coming from I certainly can't!!!???.

Re: Buxton Updates
Another poor performance and a disastrous result, if 1-0 up against 10 after 30 minutes isn't convertible into a win then what is? The inability to change tactics that aren't working is a sign of poor management that has run out of ideas. Not enough width, too many long high balls down the middle, and don't get me started on the limitations (cruelly exposed today, and lucky not to get a red card as opposition showed just how slow he is) of the player who's first on the team sheet every game. Week after week, no wonder loyaller but less stupid fans than me are voting with their feet.
Even so, I still think there are 4 teams worse than us, so that's OK, isn't it?

Re: Buxton Updates
Take the positives out of this result next season we'll be playing Albion and North End.(Tadcaster and Glossop!)
