Re: Coalville Updates
He's gone to Solihull, Ken. Made his debut in the National League yesterday- he has done very well for himself. And he's a good lad as well!

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say here. You quote me saying that and then put that, what exactly is your point?gingeryeltz wrote:Pot, Kettle ?Yeltz27 wrote: It's to do with attitude.

I know naff all about what happens behind the scenes at the club but I clearly recall that Sir John was publicly rather displeased that Joel Kettle left for Sutton. He wasn't let go.

Re: Coalville Updates
I may be wrong , but could it be that kettle criticised the management for playing him out of position and as we know from recent events, Hill will not take criticism.

Re: Coalville Updates
The basis of my point was taken from watching the video of the goal afterwards, not from my position behind the goal at the time it happened. The first rule of refereeing is you give what you see, I fail to see from where he was positioned when the shot was taken and the attempted clearance was made, how he could tell 100% that the ball was 100% over the line. If the linesman had given the goal I could understand it.Yeltz27 wrote:Now how can you possibly know it was a ridiculous decision when you were standing behind the goal at the far end? I think the referee was probably in a much better position than you to see what was going onRobYeltz wrote: We can't keep blaming luck as but yesterday's second goal was a ridiculous decision, how the referee could see that was over the line i'll never know and the benefit of the doubt should have been ours, the linesman was running back to keep up with play and didn't flag for it either.
And if the manager actually knew what he was doing, maybe we wouldn't need a big man up top to make the ball stick because they would be playing to the strengths of the players they have. But as it is (because John Hill only knows one style of 'football' if you can call it that), yes a big man is essential
It's strange how you've picked out the one point of my comment and highlighted it to suit your argument, yet in essence I've pretty much agreed with you that the recent performances and results aren't good enough.

Ok Rob, fine, but if you agree about the state of things at the moment, are you still adamantly Hill in? I think if you were to start saying Hill out as well, or that there should be pressure on the manager, that it would go a long way to resolving the current problem. He's got to go, if he doesn't we are definitely going down and nobody wants that. In my opinion, anybody vaguely competent could do a better job. We might not get a good manager for all I know, but something has to be done

I'm not sure that my opinion of the manager holds any more weight than any other supporter. I know that things need to be better than they are now and have been for a number of weeks, but I'm fairly sure that the management team and players know that themselves.

Re: Coalville Updates
I disagree, but still. This manager isn't capable of making things better, maybe he was at the level below, but not at this level. He's a £6 entry fee manager managing a club at a £10 entry fee level, and you can tell in the football, or lack of.RobYeltz wrote:Yeltz27 wrote:Ok Rob, fine, but if you agree about the state of things at the moment, are you still adamantly Hill in? And there's no point people saying about self inflicted pressure, it's never the same as pressure put on by other people. It's always an easy thing to say to actually relieve the pressure. And for the self inflicted pressure to work, you have to be able to take criticism, and be very self critical. As a few of us have pointed out, that doesn't seem to apply here
